Tesla Motors had a display at the Queensgate Mall to show their Model S and Model X Electric Vehicles. The display cars had a range of about 500km and likely could be driven Wellington to Taupo on a full charge.

Queensgate has 90 shops (maybe more at this time now) for you to visit and spend your money at, I toured the main shops of Queensgate (just did game because it was favourite! Where shall I go next?
