Olympic peninsula, Washington, USA: Lake Quinault and rainforest
The Olympic peninsula is located at the north west of Washington State. It is famous for the temperate rainforests covered by moss and the beautiful beaches at the Pacific coast. This video shows the rainforest near the Quinault Lake and the Quinault Lodge. Then it shows the South Beach and the Kalaloch lodge.

KILLER OCEAN LOGS
The gang heads home from the big cabin weekend. Taking a longer route down the washington coast line they make their way through Forks Washington barely escaping getting bit and having really bad food, down the coast to the #3 beach off highway 101, and finally to Lake Quinault lodge. A great last day to the big weekend trip to the coast.

We made the videos, along with taking lots of photos, so that we would have something to remember the trip by, and so that our family and friends could see some of what we experienced. The video wasn’t the main purpose of the trip, though; the main purpose was for us to see and experience everything for ourselves, with taking video and photos coming second to that, so this only really shows you glimpses of our trip. Nevertheless, we hope you enjoy it.

Pacific Northwest Rain Forest - Movie 7 Part 1 June 6, 2009
West Coast Canada Temperate Rain Forest, Part 1 -
Introduction to a Rain Forest Series covering western Canada and United States. Sometimes known as the Pacific Northwest this area includes Alaska, British Columbia (Canada), Washington State, Oregon and Northern California. There are stands of deciduous hardwood - alder, oak, maple and others; albeit they are increasingly difficult to find. The major forest cover, however, are the evergreen, softwood forest species including Balsam (a fir), Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, Fir, Hemlock, Pine, Spruce and others. These 'old growth', often up to 1,200 year old, forests have been under sever attack by clear-cut logging operations over the years and few intact ecosystems remain. Subsequent tree planting has largely been mono-culture (one species) forests and, at that, replanting was had not been a regular part of regular forestry practices until the latter half of the 1900s.
A Sol Duc Trek Through the Olympic National Park
Sol Duc is located on the western side of the Olympic National Park in the state of Washington. Sol Duc is a lush rainforest with old grown trees, lots of water falls, bubbling brooks, lakes and even hot springs. Great hiking and exploration.
Mickey in The Wilderness - Madison Falls - Olympic National Park - Elwha Valley
Mickey in The Wilderness - Madison Falls Trail is located at Olympic National Park at the Elwha River Entrance in The Elwha Valley. Madison Falls Trail is wheelchair accessible on a short, paved, 200 feet path to the base of the falls. There is an accessible vault toilet near the parking lot. This beautiful cascading water fall is a majestic little giant. Don't let the size fool you, Madison Falls is has a 60-foot high cascade. It was a crisp spring day out on the Olympic Peninsula. The sun was shining through the tall trees as the winds gently touched the leaves at the very top giving the appearance of the trees performing a spring dance. The birds were chirping singing their ode de spring song. And to my surprise, I hear the gentle roar of the falls as I stood before this majestic little giant. I was mesmerized and almost hypnotized by the sound and watching the water fall over the mossy rocks, pool, and swiftly flow downstream. Oh Madison Falls, your beauty will forever be ingrained in my memory and when I think of you it makes me smile.
Please come out and make your own memories here at Olympic National Park. It is a once in a life time experience you must enjoy. You will not be disappointed.
