???? Join Stephen Blackburn & his trio in an incredibly intelligent, insightful, bitingly honest comedy. Stephen Blackburn - known for TV Fast Forward/ Australia You’re Standing In It/ Choir of Hard Knocks - presents his very witty original songs aimed at modern absurdities, pretence & frustrations in a dizzying array of musical styles.
The New Hip will cover a lot of territory, poking fun at moguls, hipsters, nose-jobs in Asia, bollards, privilege, schadenfreude and more, with time to take a breather to enjoy the musicianship. The show is intelligent, insightful and refreshing because Stephen often states what we are thinking, but not saying, when he shares his bitingly honest comedy. His engaging patter from the piano takes the audience through unexpected moments of genuine poignancy spiked with belly laughs. Is it politically correct? Probably, but only just.
If you are harbouring frustrations concerning any kind of modern absurdity, (who doesn’t?) it’s likely Stephen Blackburn has written a song taking the Micky out of it for you. So, come along and share in a cathartic laugh.
Feat. Steve Blackburn, Steve Temple, Shane Ryall

RRRTAG's full season to be released soon.First the Australian Defence force have bought two private showings to be performed at their St Kilda Barracks, but even more astonishingly, non theatre folk are organizing for the play to be brought to their towns. In just a few weeks Corowa will be staging two shows in their Memorial hall, which the council, after reading the script, has given them for free, Yarrawonga is next and now Hay, Albury, Gladstone and Bega are all trying to get this play to their town.
No one in the theatre world can remember this happening and what’s more it’s a play aimed predominantly at mature white males which paints them in all their frustration and beauty.
In fact, the writer dares to state that Men are beautiful for he believes that shame is the main problem.
And this play is not about awareness, this story is all suicide prevention. It allows you to experience, without taking that step yourself, what it would be like if you took your own life and then instantly changed your mind.
Michael has attracted the public backing of Simon McKeon A.0, Peter McMullin Barrister and the RTBU Union, but more importantly the PEOPLE.
And what the play does best is attack the silence by having its characters talk openly and frankly about suicide, they must, for caring for each other and speaking the truth is their only chance of getting back.
But this frankness is why the play can’t receive one cent of government funding. It is a rebel play that is stirring a grass roots uprising. People want to talk.
So, when it comes to suicide this is currently the country’s best good news story and it is a story that is not stopping. In an era where everything is online and fast grab, this play is going viral.
