ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

The Best of Redwood National Park
A January 2014 trip to northern California's Redwood National Park, exploring Fern Canyon, Elk Prairie, Trillion Falls, the Tall Trees Trail, Gold Bluffs Beach, the Glen Berry Trail, Elk Grove, the Miner's Ridge Trail, the James Irvine Trail, and Curruthers Cove.
Also, the monologue in the introduction is from National Geographic's short movie on David Milarch, which documents Mr. Milarch's efforts to clone California's fallen redwoods:
Mr. Milarch is a true man of the redwoods, and his work is incredibly inspirational.

Top 5 Trails Redwood National Park, California ( GoPro HD)
The top 5 hiking trails of California's Redwood National Park.
I drove to north bound 101 from San Francisco.
This list would be a ideal stops if you drive 101 South to North.
5.Rockefeller Grove ( Humboldt Redwoods State Park)
Yes! This trail is funded by Rockefeller Jr.
It meets Bull Creek and Eel creek.
I saw few families swimming and fishing in these creeks.
4. Founders Grove ( Humboldt Redwoods State Park) - The most iconic of all Redwood groves.
3.Lady Bird Johnson Grove (Redwood National Park ) - It is located more than 1200 feet above sea level. In August 1969, President Richard Nixon Dedicated the Grove to Lady Bird Johnson.
2. Tall Trees Grove ( Redwood National Park ) -
Holder of worlds tallest tree.
Permit requires to get to the trailhead. 6.7 miles of unpaved road.
Totally worth every single inch!
A must Hike trail.
And finally the Best trail of them all
1. James Irvine to Gold Bluff Beach - Miners Ridge Loop.( Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park)
This 12 miles long Loop offers Redwood Forest, 50 feet wall Fern Canyon, Gold Bluff Beach and waterfalls.
Start your hike early , have lunch at the Beach picnic table.
Don't forget to check out the waterfalls.
The map only mark one but we found three waterfalls.
Miners Ridge trail is as gorgeous as James Irvine.

Tall Trees Grove in Redwoods National Park
The Tall Trees Grove is one of the most beautiful spots in Redwoods National Park. The grove takes some work to access as you have to get a permit at the visitors center with the gate code and there are lots of other amazing groves in the park if you want something simpler. That being said, this is a fantastic area to explore in Redwoods National Park and Amie and I loved getting to check it out.

Camping in the Redwoods - Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park
We decided to take a road trip to Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park in Northern California.
We stayed two nights at the state park campground. It is highly developed with heated restrooms and warm water showers.
The site is a bit pricey at almost 35 dollars per night.
They also had cabins which were $100 usd per night.
Some friends also joined us on this trip, and although there wasn’t much to see except for the trees, it is definitely a must see and should be on everyone’s bucket list!

On the California Coastal Redwood Forest, there are three redwood trees you can actually drive through. We drove through two of them - the Shrine Drive-Thru-Tree in Myers Flat, CA and the Chandelier Tree in Leggett, CA in October, 2014. These trees are over 300 feet tall, over 2,000 years old and have a diameter of 21 feet.

Redwood Forest Tourist guide - Humboldt Redwoods State Park California
Visiting the redwoods is a truly breathtaking experience and should be on every persons bucket list.

Redwood National Park
Redwood, California -- Home to some of the tallest trees on earth. These trees were standing when the Roman Empire was falling, we know this magical forest as Redwood National Park. With 40 miles of Pacific Coast, these coastal redwoods are 368 feet, evergreen trees, kept moist by thick fogs. Before protection from state and federal law, 90 percent of Redwood Trees had been destroyed.
For hikes, check out Tall Trees Grove. Scientists say the tallest tree is in Redwood, but the location remains a secret.
Movie goers will notice the ferns from Jurassic Park and from Star Wars.

Backpacking Redwood Creek | Redwood National Park, CA
An amazing overnight backpacking trip along Redwood Creek! The adventure began by obtaining an overnight permit and heading up Bald Hills Rd to the Tall Trees Grove trail-head parking area. From here we hiked approximately 2.5 miles down to the Redwood Creek and found an amazing preexisting camping spot right along the river. This section of Redwood National Park is home to the Tall Trees Grove.

Tallest Trees on Earth - Redwood National Park California
Sometimes when the morning fog caresses the great trees, you can imagine the past flowing through the long, misty shadows --- Vast redwood forests flourishing across a lush and humid North America ... After the final ice age, a LAST stand here in the sustaining climate along the Pacific coast -- tree after tree falling to the loggers saw.

California Highway 101 Road Trip River Mountain Scenery Driving Through Redwood Forest National Park Just a video of a road trip driving down the CA-101 on the way to Eureka. There is lots of beautiful scenery along this way and I had to stop and get a video of some of it. I stopped and got this river that was running in the bottom of the canyon and the water was a green color and looked really cool. Lots of mountains, rocks, and even an old bridge built right into the side of the mountain. Then I made my way into the start of the Redwood Forest and you can see they trees get huge.
