Carers need legal right to 'respite' holidays
Carers UK says it is time that those who look after the elderly or disabled are supported and warns the Government it needs to provide a plan to fund the country's creaking and crumbling social care system.
Emily Holzhausen, Director of Policy and Public Affairs for Carers UK, has welcomed news that carers are set to gain a legal right to respite holidays.
They're giving so much support yet often they're feeling they don't get a lot in return she said. Many people never expect to find themselves caring for a relative or loved one, she explained, adding that the role is hugely stressful and hugely demanding for most people, many of whom may have other family to also look after.

The decline and revitalization of Coney Island
USA: SCAFFOLDING ERECTED AS DOME OF CAPITOL IS REPAIRED
Natural Sound
One of Washington D.C's most famous monuments, the dome of the Capitol is about to get a major facelift.
It's all part of a project to revitalise the American capital's historic monuments, and a bid to boost its appeal as a tourist destination.
This American institution is getting a substantial makeover.
The Capitol building- which houses the Senate and House of Representatives is a buzz with activity.
The building is now covered scaffolding which will be used for some extensive repairs to the dome of the Capitol at the east end of the Mall in Washington D. C.
Five years ago, the interior of the dome and the statue that sits on top of the Capitol dome were refurbished.
Now, it's the exterior of the Capitol dome that is being worked on.
The Dome has a colourful and long history.
It's a monument which has outlasted wars and Presidents, as well as changes in architecture.
It was built between 1859 and 1865 - during the American Civil War.
President Abraham Lincoln ordered that the dome be finished despite the ongoing conflict.
Now, almost 150 years later, the dome will once again appear as good as new.
The project should take about three years to complete.
But it's hoped the final product will increase its popularity as a tourist attraction.
It is estimated that millions of people from the US and around the world visit the Capitol building every year.

Revitalising adult football in Cheshire - Chester & Wirral Football League
A video showing how the Chester & Wirral League are helping to revitalise adult football in Cheshire.
The expectations of what an adult player wants from 11v11 football is constantly evolving. In order to support the retention and growth of new adult teams, Cheshire FA has been encouraging our leagues to consider introducing new formats of 11v11 and provide flexibility within their structure where possible.
One example of where this is currently successful, is through the great work of the Chester and Wirral Football League (CWFL), which we highlighted to all our adult leagues at our recent League Development Day.
This video, as told by league secretary Paul Graham, outlines that by introducing some adaptations, the league has made a positive impact on adult participation in their area and reinvigorated local desire to play football, evidenced by the increase in teams numbers from a low of 17 to currently having 72 and counting.
We hope that by showcasing the work of the CWFL it can inspire other leagues in the county, and regionally and nationally, that by adapting and listening to the needs of the players there is no reason why adult football can't continue to thrive.
