The Old Market Square is an open, pedestrianised city square in Nottingham, England. Old Market Square is the largest such surviving square in the United Kingdom, forming the heart of the city, and covering an area of approximately 22,000 m².
Located in the heart of Nottingham City Centre, Old Market Square is bounded by Beastmarket Hill to the West, Smithy Row to the North, and South Parade to the South. The Eastern end of the square is dominated by the Council House, which serves as Nottingham's city hall. The nature of the Old Market Square means it is often used for large local events, fairs, concerts and exhibitions.
The Old Market Square has long been at the centre of Nottingham life. In the early days before the City of Nottingham was formed, the area was the centre-point between the Norman town of Nottingham, situated around the Castle Rock, and the old Anglo-Saxon town which was based around the current Lace Market at St. Mary's Church, also called Snothryngham, Snottingaham or Snottingham.
Redesigned by Gustafson Porter in 2004 and completed in March 2007, the Old Market Square renovations cost taxpayers around 17 million pounds. Not a single building was erected or demolished; the majority of the money was spent on granite paving stones and is built with three shades of granite.

Nottingham’s Highfields Park reopened today after a multi-million pound investment in the facility.
Moving around 3,500 cubic metres of silt from the bottom of the lake was the most expensive and largest piece of work undertaken by contracts at the site over the past year.
This has allowed rowers to use the full length of the boating lake whereas in the past they were restricted because of the danger of beaching their boats.
Other changes include:
Refurbished croquet pavilion
Refurbished boating ticket office
Resurfaced paths around the park
Restored vintage gas lamps
New railings and an ornate gate at the tram stop entrance
Improvements to the play area

Join me for this very short vlog from McKeans Family Fun Fair in Bramcote Park Nottingham.This was a very small Fun Fair however it was worthy of a vlog for one unique machine Tip Top.I needed this cred and it's a ride thats very difficult to track down.Plenty of offride and onride footage from this unique ride Iincluding footage from the opp cabin,along with all the other attractions including The Dogems,Miami and Wild West kiddie coaster.
It was a Bank Holiday and it was extremly hot but we covered everthing the Fair had to offer set in it's beautiful location of Bramcote Park.
