We went camping down at the Rochon Sands campground and as we're setting up, lo and behold this beast develops just to our west and bears down straight over us. Now, being the storm chaser kinda guy that I am, this totally sucked ass being stuck down here beside the lake watching this draw nearer, as opposed to watching from a safe distance and being mobile. Thank goodness she wasn't rotating.

Buffalo Lake Campground | Alberta Camping Review

Also known to the locals as Boss Hill, Buffalo Lake Provincial Recreation Area is one of three campgrounds on central Alberta's Buffalo Lake. Located on highway 56 north of Stettler, Alberta, Canada, about 2 1/2 hours northeast of Calgary.

Take a walk down the shoreline or along the small beach, watch for owls, song birds and deer in the surrounding forest, or take a boat out on to the lake for some great fishing. Waterskiing and wind surfing are also popular activities on the water.

This campground has 28 sites with camping fees of $22/night. There is no services available and no potable water available at the campground itself.

SUMMER 2018 | Buffalo Lake, Alberta

This summer was probably one of the chillest in the last few years. There was no crazy Kelowna of Vancouver trip, but it was still completely, totally, 100% epic!! Lake days will forever be the best days! ☀️ & add in some pretty sweet people, and you got one heck of a summer to remember! ????There was a LOT of laughs, a lot of jumping off of things, and an unreal amount of time spent on the water!

A group of friends and I went camping out at Buffalo Lake and spent the day paddle boarding and playing ladder golf at the beach. First time ever on a paddle board and it was lots of fun!
