Exploring the South - Perth to Esperance (and Back)
I lived in Perth for few years and some days I can feel how far away from anything this city is.
To this day Perth is still the most isolated city in the world, which makes it challenging to go anywhere different when you have few days off.
The great thing about Western Australia are its pristine landscapes, anywhere from Esperance to the Kimberley, most of its places take your breath away.
Last week I had 3 days off and with a friend I decided to go on a 3 days road trip, to Esperance and back (with unexpected stop in Margaret River and Busselton where we saw the longest getty in the southern emisphere).
The nothingness, the landscapes, the wildlife and the coffee (joking... the south west has to level up their coffe game) made the trip worth beyond words.

Esperance Great Ocean Drive Extended
The Great Ocean Drive extended, this includes 3 accommodations merged into the drive. This drive from the town centre is the 38km self drive tourist loop, which takes in the beautiful surfing and fishing beaches, the wind farm and Pink Lake. The Rotary Lookout is the start of a lovely walk, especially during wildflower season. West Beach is great for surfing and Dolphins. Salmon Beach is popular for Salmon fishing, they often circle this bay. Fouth Beach, 4 miles from town, is the best beach for Wind Sports. Twilight Beach is a great family beach and it was voted Best Beach in Australia in 2006. Observatory Point, shows how grand the coastline is, giving a 360o view of the area.
Esperance Views n Dolphins
Saturday 25th November 2017
Stunning morning with light winds increasing. 2 Flights done on one battery. The first flight from Wireless Hill/ Rotary Lookout , the second flight where we spotted a pod of Dolphins while driving to Twilight Cove was a bit of a sweaty palm job as getting low on volts over water some 1500' away in increasing winds isn't recommended. Tail wind on the return at 10.7V... was never at risk.
Shot in 4K produced in 1080p.

Camping and 4wding at the beautiful Henty River Western Tasmania
A sandy 4wd track branching off the Henty road near Strahan leads to a serene camping spot on the Henty River Estuary. We took our boat down to Ocean Beach to enjoy the sunset on a perfect summer afternoon. The return trip requires negotiating a rutted sandy hill climb which we had to winch ourselves up.

North Carolina Goat Farm - America's Heartland

The Master of the World by Jules Verne | Audio book with subtitles
Chief Inspector Strock gets the tough cases. When a volcano suddenly appears to threaten mountain towns of North Carolina amid the non-volcanic Blue Ridge Mountains, Strock is posted to determine the danger. When an automobile race in Wisconsin is interrupted by the unexpected appearance of a vehicle traveling at multiples of the top speed of the entrants, Strock is consulted. When an odd-shaped boat is sighted moving at impossible speeds off the New England coast, Stock and his boss begin to wonder if the incidents are related. And when Strock gets a hand-lettered note warning him to abandon his investigation, on pain of death, he is intrigued rather than deterred.
Set in a period when gasoline engines were in their infancy and automobiles were rare, and when even Chief Inspectors had to engage a carriage and horses to move about, the appearance of a vehicle that can move at astounding speeds on land, on water - and as later revealed, underwater and through the air - marks a technological advance far beyond the reach of nations. It is technology invented by and for the sole benefit of a man who styles himself (with some justification) The Master of the World.
This book is a sequel to an earlier Verne novel, Robur the Conqueror, but enough detail is given to fully appreciate this story without having first read the other. (Summary by Mark)
