Travel Vlog |Heaven of Dooars |Lepchakha |Best Place For A Short Trip In West Bengal, India|Bengali
Lepchakha is a small Drukpa village on a hilltop inside the Buxa Tiger reserve. The village is located close to Bhutan, the areal distance not being more than 2 to 3 km. There is a border outpost of the security agencies here. The village has a very small population of about a hundred people.
The main attraction of Lepchakha is the view from the hilltop. There is a large ground where you can seat on a bench and be mesmerized by the view of Dooars in front. Almost the entire Buxa forest area is visible from here including every nook and corner. As many as seven rivers flowing through the Buxa forest can be seen from here. To your extreme left, you can see river Sankosh followed by River Raidak, Jayanti, Bala, and others. You can see Alipurduar town, Jayanti riverbed, Santalabari and the entire green cover in front of you. Turn around and behind you are the hills of Mahakal, Chuna Bhatti and Rovers point which together makes for a great trek.
People of the village are also very unique. The Drukpa people are the original inhabitant of the place. These people are Bhutanese in origin and have a unique culture different from the Nepalese who dominate lower part of the hills. The architecture of the Drukpa house is also unique.

Dooars Alipurduar Shikiyajhora tour.part 1.
Buxa - This is a destination that makes hectic urban life seem irrelevant and a few days stay is rejuvenating. Located in the lap of nature with mountains, forests and streams. Scenic charm and a rich bio-diversity near Alipurduar / Buxa Fort will please all. It is famous for its tiger reserve and the only one in the whole of the region. One can approach from New Siliguri by car to reach Santrabari. A 4 kilometer trek to the village of Buxa Sadar Bazar. A small hamlet with no electricity and poor communication. Result complete freedom from phone and to absorb the beauty of the place. The weather is congenial throughout the year and bit chilly by night. Food like rice and chicken curry and the chicken Thukpa is quite popular among the local along with pepper tea. Its a refreshing potion. The forest is dense and Bhutan The entire Buxa range has many trekking option but a guide is a must. The place is known for birding, fishing, trekking and wildlife. Bird watchers will be aptly awarded by the view of trans Himalayan migratory goosander, ibis bill, fork-tails, red-stars, wagtails, great pied hornbills, common teal, gargani teal, large whistling teal, white eyed pochard and in winter black-necked crane. Narathali Lake is visited by many a birdAn hour’s trek along the winding roads leads to Buxa Duar and Buxa Tiger Reserve. It’s a tiger reserve from 1983 and was declared a National Park status in 1992. Spreading over nearly 700 kilometers with a diversified range of Flora and Fauna Buxa Tiger reserve will fascinates all. Buxa Reserve has nearly over 360 species of birds, over 70 species of mammals, 70 species of snakes, 5 species of amphibians. Buxa Tiger Reserve has the highest number of fish species in the North Bengal region. Wildlife includes herds of elephants, herds of bisons, leopards, tigers, deer, wild boars, bears, civets, giant squirrel, Gaur, Chital, clouded leopard, wild Buffaloes, antelope and snakes like Python are found here. But one has to be lucky to sight a leopard or tiger. Elephants and bisons are generally visible to the lucky ones. From Buxa Duar there are basically many trek routes. Out of this two popular trek routes are the one leading to Lalbangla, Tashigaon and Chuna Bhati and the other route to Jayanti. Nearly 4 kilometers trek through the forest track leads to the Rover's Point. It is the land of unknown birds situated at about 4500 feet. There are two very old temples like the Jalpeshwar and Jatileshwar. The Buxa - Lalbangla, Tashigaon and Chuna Bhatti route is nice trek. At Tashigaon and Chuna Bhati there are monasteries or gumphas atop the hills and a Finland Church. The trek is bit tedious but the sight of the Rydak River from between the mountain peaks of Tashigaon till Lepcha Kha is a treat. There are no food shops in the one and a half hour trek from Buxa Fort till Tashigaon. From Tashigaon one can take the core forest route to reach Lepcha Kha nearly an hour’s trek down the forest. On the way to Lepcha Kha, one needs to make an entry in the BSF register. Back to Buxa Fort and then to Sadar Bazar but one has to be back before sunset and a guide is must. A peaceful retreat nestled in the foothills of the mighty Himalayas; Buxa remains a favourite in our travel album till date. The second route is two hours trek. The 13 kilometers stretch from Buxa Duar to Jayanti is a popular trekking route. The Buxa Fort is located at an altitude of 2600 feet. This fort was built by the East India Company in 1873. It served as a cellular jail for the freedom fighters of India. The roads are in bad shape but the mountain peak views, low clouds add to the beauty of trekking. This trek passes through the dense forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve through wilderness. Chirping of unknown birds, wild streams and the fragrance of nature fascinates the trekker and the route. The trek ends at a stalactite cave of Jayanti – the Mahakal cave. The downhill trek from here leads to Jayanti Forest Bungalow.

If u want some adventure then u can camp here. The camps can be rented and they will charge u per head basis. Some activies like angling, rafting can be done there. In my video you will see some glimpses of these places, hope u will like it.

GLIDING THROUGH SNOW!!! Darjeeling Snowfall | Dawaipani EP02 | Missing gears
hi guys!
in part two, we experienced the snow at Darjeeling. this was not the snowfall at Darjeeling but a hail storm at Darjeeling. this snowfall in Darjeeling made the road very slippery and we took shelter in a hotel in chitey.
later on, on the Darjeeling to Siliguri road, we experienced ultimate fog in Rohini road.
Although we completed our trip successfully while gathering a lot of biking experience.
These areas of offbeat Darjeeling are really awesome and can give you the ultimate conditions of the rural Himalayan terrains.
