Travel Morocco - Tour of El Bahia Palace in Marrakech
Take a tour of El Bahia Palace, Marrakech -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats.
Hi I am Naomi and I am very excited to show you the world's greatest attractions.
It is an ornamented jewel of a palace worthy of the royal family of Morocco.
El Bahia means the palace of the beautiful, and its certainly earned its name.
This royal palace features carved patterns and exquisite eastern architecture.
A prime feature of the Bahia is its marble tiled courtyards and fountains.
Though the palace is over a hundred years old its majesty is undiminished.
Open to the sky the courtyards allow you to feel the warm Moroccan sun, and if that's not enough the palace is surrounded by spectacular gardens.
Thank you for watching our travel video series see you next time.

Luxury living at private palaces in Marrakech - 2014
A hotel in Marrakech, Morocco is offering guests the chance to live like a Sheik - if they can afford it.
Owned by the country's monarch, King Mohammed VI of Morocco, it's one of the most expensive hotels in the world.
STORYLINE:
The fountains are filled with rosebuds, the champagne is being chilled and the servants stand guard at the private dining area.
Staying at the Royal Mansour hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco, is the closest many people can get to being treated like a king.
And if you fancy a night here, you might have to sell the crown jewels.
With hotel rooms up to 50-thousand dollars it's one of the most expensive hotels in the world.
The hotel does not have classical hotel rooms.
Instead guests stay in private riads, Moroccan style two-floor palaces with a courtyard, fountains, a rooftop terrace and private pool.
The smallest riads, with only one bedroom, start at around $1,300 USSD but if you want pure luxury, the top of the range palace is available for over $50 thousand USD.
This three bedroom riad, complete with a private dining area, a fountain filled with red rosebuds, a kitchen, two bathrooms, the standard private pool and the constant attention of hotel staff, could be yours all for around $12 thousand USD per night.
It's designed for a family of four, but the hotel could add an extra bed for no charge if needed.
According to a 2012 survey by website Luxury Hotels, the price for a standard double room at the Royal Mansour will set you back a little over $2,000 USD on average - making it the second most expensive hotel in the world when evaluated by average price per night.
The hotel is located close to the Jemaa el Fna Square in central Marrakech and it has a view of the iconic Koutoubia Mosque from the rooftop terrace.
According to the hotel's director of marketing, Karim Slimani, it's the combination of the central location and the seclusion that makes it special.
You live your experience within a very private, secluded atmosphere, he says.
But at the same time, being in the heart of Marrakech, this will enable every guest staying in the hotel, to be discovering the beauty of the city, the beauty of the destination, within very easy reach from the property.
In total there are 53 riads available.
The hotel does not provide information on how many guests stay at the hotel each year, but according to Slimani most of the riads are booked out throughout the year.
The hotel complex is like a small town in itself, with roads leading between the different riads.
The main building houses three restaurants and also a spa, complete with an indoor and outdoor pool, a traditional Moroccan hammam bath area and an endless supply of more rosebuds in fountains.
Marrakesh is well established as the main tourism hub of Morocco.
After a dip in tourists after the 2008 financial crisis, visitor numbers are now over pre-crisis levels according to the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism.
In 2013, there were over 6.5-million overnight stays in Marrakesh, up by 10 percent from the year before and up from 3.7 million in 2000.
The greatest number of visitors to Morocco come from France, some 26 percent of the total.
In second place come visitors from the United Kingdom with 8 percent of the total visitors followed by Arab counties with 6 percent.
But according to Slimani, the Royal Mansour has experienced a large number of guests from so-called emerging markets.
Surprisingly enough, since we have opened, we have discovered that our clientele is not necessarily the classical clientele that chose to come to Marrakech, he says.
The American market, the Russian market, the Brazilian market, and now growingly the Asian, the Chinese, the Japanese market, is becoming one of our leading clientele providers.

MARRAKECH, EXPLORING the ruins of the spectacular 16th century EL BADI PALACE (MOROCCO) ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's walk on the ruins of El Badi Palace which is located in Marrakech, Morocco. The palace was constructed by the Arab Saadian sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, sometime shortly after his accession in 1578, and it took twenty five years to build, with construction finally been completed around 1593 and was a lavish display of the best craftmanship of the Saadian period.
Morocco, a North African country bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, is distinguished by its Berber, Arabian and European cultural influences. Marrakesh’s medina, a mazelike medieval quarter, offers entertainment in its Djemaa el-Fna square and souks (marketplaces) selling ceramics, jewelry and metal lanterns. The capital Rabat’s Kasbah of the Udayas is a 12th-century royal fort overlooking the water.
Enjoy!!
