Botswana camping in a roof top tent, Zebra Camper Hire 4x4 review
Ever wondered what it would be like to camp in a rooftop tent in the African wilderness?
Here's a quick tour of a Zebra Camper Hire 4x4 camper rental that we took to the remote Mabuasehube area in Botswana. It's part of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the Kalahari Desert and it is full of amazing wildlife. The only way to get there is with a 4x4 vehicle and renting a 4x4 camper is an awesome way to go!
Many thanks to Zebra Camper Hire in Johannesburg for helping make this journey possible for us. Read more on Travel For Wildlife ( and check out Zebra Camper Hire for more info on their campers (

ONE OF THE WORLDS GREATEST PASSES. Africa by Rental 4x4 | 4xOverland
An incredible day to remember in Africa. This is what exploring is all about! As we near what must be one of the world's greatest off-road passes— Van Zyl’s Pass, and the Marienfluss, the jewel in the crown of the Kaokoveld, I suffer my first puncture with BFGoodrich tyres in seven years. And what caused it is a surprise! And then Van Zyl’s Pass, classed as one of the world’s ‘Most dangerous Roads’, its the only way to descend the plateau and reach the remarkable gravel coastal plains of northern Namibia. The sky is as spectacular as I have ever seen it.
Part-4 of our expedition through Namibia to discover how easy it is to rent a 4×4 and have an amazing self-drive expedition of your own
We were driving a Toyota Land Cruiser dual-cab 4,2L 6-cyl diesel with standard suspension. The vehicle was on loan from Safari Drive.

Namib Desert 4x4 Tour
This video shows a short part of each day on our incredible 10 day tour!
English:
We had the privilege of doing a tour from Luderitz to Walvisbay in Namibia. The tour consisted of two days travelling from Pretoria South Africa to Luderitz where we met Ramon our guide from Coastway tour. We then spent 5 days in the Namib desert travelling to Walvisbay. We spent a day in Swakopmund doing the living desert tour as well as a boat cruise later the afternoon. The following two days we travelled back to Pretoria, South Africa.

South Africa to Kenya drive - part 4 (Ending)
It's Been almost two years since my Dad and I drove our car from Pretoria, South Africa to Nairobi, Kenya in 2013. I finally decided to upload the video for you guys to see on YouTube. This is the final chapter in our trip. Watch part one, two, and three first if you haven't yet.
Namibia by 4x4 Safari
Climbing a shifting sand dune to watch the sunrise over desert dunes, seeing a group of Kudu's running in the vast desert plains, running into the ocean and casting a line in the wild Skeleton Coast, making fires every night under a sky full of stars, driving on straight open roads with epic landscapes passing by, and seeing an amazing diversity of wildlife roam in the Etosha pan: all this and more, is what Namibia offers. With a 4x4 vehicle, you can drive deep into the Namib desert to drive right underneath towering sand dunes, take detours to find hidden gems such as Spitzkoppe, and pitch your rooftop tent right underneath rocky mountains engraved with ancient rock paintings. Namibia is a perfect destination for peace and quiet, allowing you the headspace and adventure away from the busy city life.

The Entabeni Game Reserve, Entabeni means 'place of the mountain', is a 220 km2 (85 sq mi) private reserve situated in the Waterberg in Limpopo Province in northern South Africa. The Entabeni Reserve is popular for safari trips because of the opportunity to see big game and a variety of birds and antelope species, as well as its beautiful scenery, and the fact that it is in a malaria-free zone. The reserve is home to Transvaal lion, African bush elephant, South African giraffe, African leopard, South African cheetah, warthog, African buffalo, hippopotamus and other safari animals in a variety of habitats.
Summer in Entabeni is from November to March with temperatures between 15 and 40 °C (59 and 104 °F). Winter temperatures vary from −5 to 25 °C (23 to 77 °F) (April-October).
The reserve is owned and operated by Legend Lodges.
Also situated on the property is the Entabeni Nature Guide Training school.
=====================
Set in the foothills of the majestic Waterberg mountain range, the 22000ha Entabeni Game Reserve is a preferred destination for Johannesburg and Pretoria city visitors seeking a luxury safari experience and without travelling great distances.
Entabeni is located in the Limpopo province of South Africa and a short distance from the main north-south highway that runs between Pretoria and the Zimbabwean border.
Each of the game lodges at the Entabeni Game Reserve offer unique accommodation, from stilted houses high up in the tree canopy to absolute extravagance.
The word Entabeni means Place of the Mountain, fitting considering its location, and the reserve proudly encompasses 5 separate ecosystems. It’s a place where high valleys drop down into warm basins and savannah makes way for wetlands and thickly wooded plains. The area is a true reflection of Africa as a whole, a biosphere where all living creatures co-exist.
Top 6 reasons to visit Entabeni Nature Reserve
=======================================
1. Game viewing holds an endless fascination for human beings where so often, the unpredictable happens. Join a game drive through the reserve to watch the plentiful animals that include the Big 5 (lion, rhino, leopard, elephant and buffalo) and many other smaller mammal species.
2. Birding can be enjoyed from your private deck or along the banks of the Entabeni Lake. The area has over 350 recorded species, enough to keep birders happy for weeks!
3. Playing a round of golf at the Legend Golf and Safari Resort is one you won’t forget in a hurry. Wild animals roam the fairways, each of which have been designed by a golfing great. Golf Digest magazine rated 3 holes on this course as the ‘most terrifying, frightening, fear-inducing holes in golf’. You won’t be disappointed.
4. Take boat cruise on the Entabeni Lake to watch the hippos and crocodiles along the banks. If fortunate, you may see a fish eagle catching prey on the water or crocodiles on the hunt.
5. The contemporary restaurants at many of the Entabeni lodges employ top chefs to prepare local cuisine. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink at one of the lively bars and after an excellent meal, end the evening off with a nightcap in a boma, relating the day’s stories around an evening fire.
6. Makapansgat is a UNESCO world heritage site where significant hominid fossil discoveries were made. Start your tour at the Arend Dieperink Museum in Mokopane to view the finds, then take the tour of 3 caves, the last one the scene of a horrific battle in 1854 between Voortrekkers and Ndebele clans.
Transport
========
Entabeni Game Reserve has its own private landing strip for flights to and from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. This airport is 240km from Entabeni for those wanting to travel by car. There are car rental agencies located at OR Tambo airport and Johannesburg and Pretoria city centres, otherwise order a vehicle online. A 4x4 rental is the recommended option for travelling in this area.
Did you know?
============
The Legend Golf and Safari Resort has probably the world’s most unique 19th hole. Golfers are transported via helicopter up to Hangklip Mountain at 430m high where a small tee box is located. Using sophisticated camera technology, the ball is tracked down to the green which is shaped into the map of Africa.
The Waterberg is where an unusual tree is to be found; the pale green bark of the fever tree makes it conspicuous amongst other trees and is called the fever tree after past travellers incorrectly thought it was the cause of fever. The tree grows near to undisturbed water sources that often carry a tropical disease in parasitic worms called bilharzia.
