Nikki has a very short Bahamas Bucket list and seeing the underwater sculpture garden is on the top of it. Specifically she wants to see Atlas, the worlds largest underwater sculpture (worlds largest for now).
We're anchoring at JAWS beach in the West Bay of New Providence island. This island is the most populated island of all of the Bahamas so of course we'll have to re-provision before heading off. We've heard about this fresh grocery store in Nassau and we have to visit. We meet a couple new friends, do some snorkeling and have an all around jam packed 3 days before a big blow comes to push us out of paradise...but I guess that's life on the water.

This is some footage from our catamaran sail & snorkel Nassau Bahamas excursion while traveling on the Carnival Fascination cruise ship... hugely hilarious back story later. This was mine and my wife's 17th wedding anniversary and my Daughter and Son in Law's honeymoon... we decided to go on a cruise together and had a blast. We were heading straight for tropical storm Kate as it was passing Nassau and really thought our day in Nassau was going to be ruined. When we arrived that morning the storm had moved out and away and the weather was perfect. The only noticeable affect was that the water was slightly hazy, but still managed to get some incredible footage. The ride out to the reef was fantastic and when we arrived at the reef I was so excited to get in the water. We saw lots of species of fish, rays, coral etc (some included in this videos). I will be posting a fish only video later that will highlight the many fish we saw. On the way back from the reef we indulged in the complementary rum punch that seemed to flow endlessly. Needless to saw, by the time we got back to the dock we were felling mighty good. Now for the back story....
When we were exiting the ship in Nassau they stated the requirement a photo ID as well as your sail and sign card and my wife and I had left our licenses in our room safe. My wife, daughter and son in law exited the ship and I immediately ran back to my room to get our licenses with our excursion tickets in hand. I was in such a hurry that I got flustered and mis-remembered our room number. I must have ran the length of the ship four times trying to find my room until I came to ours. I then had to locate my wife's wallet and I am terrible at looking for things. I came to the apparent realization that I was going to miss the excursion, but right then I found my wife's wallet and was off again to find the ship's gangway exit.. had to slow down to keep from hyperventilating. Found the exit, but it was not our original exit and started getting panicky again. I pass the second exit and my wife saw me and we began our long trek up to the docks and for those that have been there know how long it is. I made it to the main entrance to Nassau and saw no transports so I really thought we were done in at that point. I then looked over towards the water and saw a fenced gateway leading to a catamaran so I ran over to see if it was ours and it was! I waited briefly for my wife and then she said, Do you have the tickets? In all the hustle and bustle I had left our tickets in our room when looking for my wife's wallet. Fortunately, we left them our ship and room information and they were able to verify that we had paid for the excursion. After all that we were now boarding the catamaran and breathing a large sigh of relief. Now that deserves a huge LMAO!!!

We used Bahamas AquaSeas for an Adventurous boating Tour. It left Nassau on a trip to 4 snorkeling hotspots. They also leave from New Providence and can handle all of your boating needs, whether it be Fishing, Snorkeling, Sightseeing, Touring, and even Private Getaways.
Here is their description of our itinerary: We do a Speedboat tour with 4 stops, first stop surrounds snorkeling around a beautiful reef full of marine life, after that we stop to a famous Cay call Sandy Cay, where it’s breath taking and you must do a photo op, next up is Green Cay, where the Turtles live, and you get to snorkel with them, last stop is beach time, on the luxurious Rose Island, where we can take you on a short hike to the other side of the Island, with high hopes to see some of the most beautiful Peacocks spread their feathers, after these activities we head back to Nassau.

As seems to be the norm, or waves and winds are much higher than expected on this trip. Each time we sail in bigger seas we're getting more comfortable and feeling more in-tune with our boat. One thing we're not in-tune with is those damn fish! We seem to have no problems catching fish but landing them is a different story. It's frustrating and fun, and whether we reel them in or not we're always smiling.
