Cozumel is an island and municipality in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen. It is separated from the mainland by Cozumel Channel and is close to the Yucatán Channel. The municipality is part of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
The economy of Cozumel is based on tourism, with visitors able to benefit from the island's balnearios, scuba diving, and snorkeling. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel.

What I like most about this island is the laid back & friendly mood people have. It's great to be right in front of the beach and wonderful that the island can be explored by walk.
That was only a 40-min boat ride from Playa Del Carmen on the mainland of Mexico.

Chankanaab is an eco park surrounding a lagoon with underwater caverns, home to dolphins, manatees and sea turtles.

A walk from the Cozumel town beach, (a little known swimming and snorkelling beach near the cruise ship port) through Cozumel town centre with its bars, restaurants, shops and souvenir markets (and a rather good coffee shop too.)
Passing through Benito Juarez Park we finish by heading towards the Cozumel cruise ship port.
Cozumel makes a great excursion or day trip for swimming or snorkelling. Arrive by cruise or from the ferry port in Playa Del Carmen.

Cozumel, Mexico - Norwegian Getaway at Cozumel (2020)
Norwegian Getaway is a cruise ship of the Norwegian Cruise Line. It was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and was delivered to its owner on 10 January 2014. At the time of its christening it was the world's ninth-largest cruise ship with a passenger capacity of 3,969 and a crew of 1,640.
Amenities on board the ship include restaurants by chef Geoffrey Zakarian, an entertainment venue devoted to magic called the Illusionarium, and another entertainment venue themed in conjunction with the Grammy Awards. The ship is based in Miami and mostly sails seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises. It was christened in Miami on February 7, 2014, with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders serving as godmothers. The ship departed on its maiden voyage the next day.
