EPIC Otis Budget Lexan Hydraulic Elevator at The Breakers Resort, Dunes Bldg., Myrtle Beach, SC
Filmed March 2019.
Here is a FRESH FIND at a hotel that several users have filmed at!! They've all filmed in the other buildings here, but skipped out on this building, which is unfortunate for them, cause look what I found!?!? A TOTALLY ORIGINAL Otis Lexan from the Late 60s/Early 70s with a NIXIE TUBE INDICATOR and my FAVORITE DRY POWERED Old Otis Hydraulic Motor!!!! It also has EPIC CLASSIC LEVELING, a Door Bumper and Doors Painted a nice Bright Orange, and it's Original Lexan buttons in EXCELLENT Condition!!!
This is the Door Jam Mounted Version of Otis Lexan, which was used on Otises' budget/economy installations during the Late 60s up until the Mid 70s. But despite this being an economy model, this thing is SUPER HIGH QUALITY, Runs Great and is VERY well built and still runs FLAWLESSLY Today 45-50 years Later, which budget elevators today won't be able to last this long, and I hope this elevator remains this way for a long long time and NEVER gets modernized!!! The Cab was redone, but otherwise, this thing is kept original, and the door operator as you can see, man is it rough. But that does give this thing character, and otherwise, this thing is a DREAM MACHINE!!!!
This place used to be the Odyssey Motel, but was bought by the Breakers in either 2012 or 2013. I'm VERY HAPPY that this place hasn't modernized this BEAUTY as Thyssenkrupp has modded the elevators in a couple of the other towers here, and again, hopefully this thing NEVER gets modded!!!

Pensacola Beach
Located on Santa Rosa Island, one of the longest barrier islands in the world, Pensacola Beach has an old Florida feel with natural beaches, local hang-outs, first-rate fishing and historic Fort Pickens. Pensacola Beach has been named among the nation's top 10 beaches by TripAdvisor.
Pensacola Beach is an unincorporated community located on Santa Rosa Island, a barrier island, in Escambia County, Florida, United States. It is situated south of Pensacola, and Gulf Breeze connected via bridges spanning to the Fairpoint Peninsula and then to the island, on the Gulf of Mexico. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 2,738.
Pensacola Beach occupies land bound by a 1947 deed from the United States Department of Interior that it be administered in the public interest by the county or leased, but never disposed; its businesses and residents are thus long-term leaseholders and not property owners.
Pensacola Beach is part of the Pensacola--Ferry Pass--Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Escambia County and Santa Rosa counties.
Pensacola Beach is located at 30°20′00″N 87°08′15″W, on the barrier island of Santa Rosa. It is bordered to the south by the Gulf of Mexico, to the north by Santa Rosa Sound and Pensacola Bay, and to the east and west by the Gulf Islands National Seashore.
The Pensacola Beach Pier is one of the longest in the Gulf of Mexico at 1,471 feet. Portofino Boardwalk features open-air bars and restaurants, shops, piers and shallow water for kids along Santa Rosa Sound. Visitors can access Gulf Islands National Seashore on both sides of Pensacola Beach, perfect for biking, snorkeling or kayaking. In summer, visitors are entertained with free concerts four nights a week. The biggest event of the year is the Pensacola Beach Air Show featuring the world-famous Blue Angels.
