Brantford is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada which was founded on River Grand. According to census 2016,population in this area was 97,496 and CMA population of Brantford was around 134,203. Amazing Facts About Brantford, Ontario make Brantford one of the amazing places to visit in Ontario.

Brantford is named just after Joseph Brant, a very important Mohawk chief during American Revolutionary War and then later, led his people in first decade in Upper Canada.
A huge amount of his descendents, and First Nations citizens, live on the Reserve of Six Nations of Grand River, which is 20 kilometers from Brantford and is one of the populous reserve in Canada.

1. Captain Joseph Thayendanegea Brant named this city as Brandford, Captain Joseph Thayendanegea Brant was a Mohawk leader who lead around 6 Nations People from the upper New York State to Brand River basin where in 1784 they established their village.
2. Brantford city feels proud to be hone to Majesty’s Royal Chapel of Mohawks; it was one of the very first Protestant churches which were built in Ontario, first Royal Chapel that belongs to the native people.
3. Grand River is a Canada based Heritage River, and it is an integral part of history of Brantford. It is known as ‘Highway of the Iroquois’, a river that servers as a community today as a very unique place to fish, kayak or canoe.
4. City’s downtown is the home to Sanderson Centre for Performing Arts, which is a restored vaudevillian playhouse which was opened in year 1919. Nowadays, theatre plays host to a wide range of touring productions, musicals and comedian that feature the local performers.
5. Proud to be hometown of “Great One,” Wayne Gretzky, Brantford is a very beautiful city where minor sports and amateur are an integral part of the community life. Walter Gretzky, Wayne’s father, still lives in the city that he always called home.
6. Alexander Graham Bell, an Inventor brought fame to the Brantford when he invented telephone in Brantford on 26th July, 1874, and made the very first long distance call on 10th August, 1876. Homestead, that provided stage for this invention, is a National Historic Site.
7. City of Brantford is host to the longest running festivals in Canada. Try to visit every summer and experience and enjoy International Villages Festival. This tradition in Brantford is going on for more than 30 years.
8. As roadways and railways replaced this river, Brantford remained a point of industrial expansion. Its optimal transportation network and key locations continue to allow city to service North American marketplace, that provide goods to the number of different areas in the world.
9. Grand River played a very important role in development of Brantford. In 19th century, this river offered an opportunity and impetus for growth of economy when barges brought all of this new material up and manufactured goods down.
10. Internationally as “The Telephone City”, Brantford marks with this pride which was a dramatic moment in 1874 when Alexander Graham Bell invented telephone; this launching was world’s one of the greatest communication industries. It is one of the Amazing Facts About Brantford, Ontario.
