What To Do In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's most popular destinations for snow birds trying to escape the cold back home. In this video I'm sharing some fun activities you can do there, many of which are free. Start by getting a bird's eye view of the old city (centro historico) by climbing up to an old lighthouse that's now a lookout point called Mirador Matamoros. Next check out the Chocolate Museum to learn about the history and culture of chocolate in Mexico, plus make your own to take home. To walk off the sugar high, head to River Cuale Island (Isla Rio Cuale) for some shopping or to grab a bite to eat. Then I suggest joining the Art Walk to learn about Puerto Vallarta's art scene and hear the stories behind its public art. At the end of the day, stroll along the lovely walkway that winds along the water called the Malecón. Try a popular local drink called a Tuba and get a photo with the Puerto Vallarta sign. The Malecón is the perfect place to catch the sunset and end the day.
Huge thank you to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and ENroute Communications for inviting us to experience Puerto Vallarta.

How to have FUN in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta is one Mexico's most popular spots to visit and it's easy to see why people have been travelling here to relax and have fun for decades. One of the best experiences is to get on a boat and spend the day out on the water. We sailed to beautiful Majahuitas Beach where we enjoyed a ton of different activities: snorkelling with fish, meeting (and smooching!) a sea lion, riding a banana boat, playing on inner tubes and a lily pad, and trying out a power scooter for the first time. We had such a fun time just letting loose and playing around.
Huge thank you to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and EnRoute Communications for inviting us to experience Puerto Vallarta and to Vallarta Adventures for an amazing day out on the water.

While shopping in Puerto Vallarta they began to realize that most of the items sold to tourist were being imported into Mexico, Cotton was being sold to India and it was harded to find truly unique gifts at an affordable price. Hence the dream and our store. We only buy from the Artist or craftsperson, we do not consign, we buy and help create new revenue streams for the people most at need, the worker. In certain cases we give micro loans or stipends, to begin a new company. Most of our Artist are Women with Children and we have never had a person fail to repay the loan. We give guidence, problem solving and most importly the freedom to create something new...to dare to take a chance on a old tradition turned into a new reality.
We have a beatiful line of handpainted purses, cluch bags, beach bags and pillows. Each piece is hand painted by Mark (Lalo) and made by a co op of Women from surrounding towns. Then women share and devide the work as they please, caring for their children and working as meets the need of the Co op. We are a fair trade company, 30 percent of the retail cost is paid to the workers, we provide Healthcare to those who work for us. The dollars are very small, but the heart of company is Big..we hope you enjoy what you see. If you are in Mexico comes see us.

Mexican TACO ADVENTURE in Puerto Vallarta
Mexico has some of the tastiest and most beloved food in the entire world. If you ask someone, 'What's your favourite food?' I find 'Mexican' is quite a common answer. Of all Mexican street food, tacos are the most popular. Take a fresh tortilla and add delicious fillings, salsas, and a squeeze of lime. In this video, Marc and I do a taco tour in downtown Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where we try all sorts of different tacos, from favourites like tacos al pastor and fish tacos to new-to-me flavours like beef cheek and marlin. Each place we go makes their own unique salsas too. We also try other Mexican street food, like churros, as well as two super popular drinks (for the first time!): pulque and mezcal. To me, the best part of a food tour is getting the chance to try new things I might not usually order or even know is available. For example, one of the carts we visit serves eyeball tacos and they're the first to sell out!
Huge thank you to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and EnRoute Communications for inviting us to experience Puerto Vallarta and to Vallarta Food Tours for introducing us to tasty new eats.

Epic Mexican Feast in Puerto Vallarta
If you're one of the approximately 100% of humans who love Mexican food, then learning how to make it yourself is the next step. In this Puerto Vallarta travel vlog, we do a Mexican cooking class to find out how our favourite dishes come together. We first walk to a market to buy fresh food supplied by local farmers and pick up vegetables, fruit, chicken, fish, and cheese. We meet a man selling grasshoppers, which are a popular snack, so we decided to give them a try. Then we stop by a tortilla factory where we try a tortilla so fresh it's almost too hot to hold. Chef Julio Cesar of Gaby's Restaurant guides us all the way. After shopping, we cook on the veranda with a view of the ocean and palm trees. It's really fun to see fresh ingredients go from the market to the table and all the steps in between. If you already love cooking, like me, then a class like this is a no brainer. But, even if you don't typically love being in the kitchen, a class like this is a great opportunity to connect with Mexican culture in a delicious way.
Huge thank you to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and ENroute Communications for inviting us to experience Puerto Vallarta and to Gaby's Restaurant for teaching us how these delicious Mexican foods are made.

Puerto Vallarta (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpweɾto βaˈʝaɾta]) is a Mexican balneario resort city situated on the Pacific Ocean's Bahía de Banderas. The 2010 census reported Puerto Vallarta's population as 255,725 making it the second largest city in the state of Jalisco. The City of Puerto Vallarta is the government seat of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta which comprises the city as well as population centers outside of the city extending from Boca de Tomatlán to the Nayarit border (the Ameca River).
The city is located at 20°40′N 105°16′W. The municipality has an area of 502.19 square miles (1,300.7 km2). To the north it borders the southwest part of the state of Nayarit. To the east it borders the municipality of Mascota and San Sebastián del Oeste, and to the south it borders the municipalities of Talpa de Allende and Cabo Corriente.
Puerto Vallarta is named after Ignacio Vallarta, a former governor of Jalisco. In Spanish, Puerto Vallarta is often shortened to Vallarta, while English speakers call the city P.V. for short. In internet shorthand the city is often referred to as PVR, after the International Air Transport Association airport code for its Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport.
