Exploring the uniquely ancient city of Thailand Chiang Mai which was a capital of Lanna kingdom in the past. Must-visit places in Chiang mai such as Wat Phra Tat Doi Suthep, Sunday Night market walking street, Chiang mai gate are featured in the film.
We also traveled to see a Wild Himalayan Cherry, known widely as Thai Sakura, which its official name in Thai is Naang Phá-Yaa Sǔea-Khrông, which means “Tiger Queen.” Thai sakura is normally blossomed in January but might be varied in other places . A period of blossom of the flower is just a few week. The place we filmed Thai Sakura is at Khun Chang Khian, Chiang Mai.
Wat Intharawat (locally known as Wat Ton Kwen) is one of very uniquely traditional Lanna-style temple. The temple is an original Lanna architecture in the past which still exist until present.

SONGKRAN FESTIVAL in Chiang Mai Thailand!!
SONKRAN is a festival of utmost happiness of Thai people. During the long holiday, many city dwellers go back home upcountry to celebrate with their families. It’s time of refreshing fun during the hottest part of the year. The young playfully splash water over each other to generate and share a collective feeling of freshness. Soaking someone isn’t insulting; the water is a blessing bringing welcome coolness to people’s live. The Songkran festival takes place on 13 -15 April and represents the traditional Thai New Year.
The word Songkran comes from Sanskrit and means “passing”, that is passage into a new star configuration, into a new year. Even though the official New Year’s Day in Thailand has long been changed to 1 January, people still respect the old tradition.

Organic Gourmet Festival October 2014 in Chiang Mai, Thailand - HD
The luxurious boutique resort in Chiang Mai, 137 Pillars House will host its first Organic Gourmet Festival between 9-12 October 2014. In this HD video interview, which took place on 25 September 2014, we talk to not only the hotel's General Manager, Mr. Manfred ILG, but also the new Executive Chef, Khun Amporn.
The festival will feature guest chefs, organic cuisine and wines, local market and hotel herb garden tours with the chefs, and daily cooking demonstrations.
Sumptuous four-course dinners on the first two evenings and an exquisite Sunday brunch will showcase a different chef’s cuisine, while the six-course Gala Dinner on 11 October will be a joint collaborative masterpiece by the three chefs who will each prepare two courses.
The Gala Dinner will include an auction to raise funds for Chiang Mai’s School of Life which is supported by the hotel.
Organic produce will be used from various suppliers throughout Thailand and specifically from Chiang Mai, including the renowned Royal Projects and a local hill tribe that produces organic eggs.
The chefs participating in the Organic Gourmet Festival include:
Global Celebrity Chef Wan, the Food Ambassador of Malaysia. Chef Wan is a colourful character with a huge personality. He is the first Asian chef signed up by Fox TV to host a culinary TV Show, called “East Bites West”, and even filmed one of his segments for the programme at 137 Pillars House last year. Chef Wan will be serving culinary masterpieces from the royal palaces of the various Malay states which incorporate Arabic, Turkish, Thai and Indian influences.
Chef Tammasak Chootong is the charismatic owner of the famous Suay Restaurant in Phuket. He created the concept for the hotel’s popular Palette restaurant in 2012. Chef Tammasak has worked in a number of world class restaurants and hotels in Germany and Thailand as well as on the prestigious QE II Cruise Liner. His cooking style focuses on light and healthy dishes and his cuisine during the festival will showcase modern Thai and pan-Asian influences with a western cooking technique.
137 Pillars House Executive Chef Amporn Choeng-Ngam. In addition to working at several of Thailand’s top properties, Chef Amporn has worked in Ukraine, Bali and as the private chef to Princess Hassah bint Abdulaziz Al Saud in Saudi Arabia. He has won Gold and Silver medals in cooking competitions in Thailand and Bali. Chef Amporn will prepare nutritious cuisine with a focus on seafood dishes incorporating traditional French and Middle Eastern influences, as well as contemporary Thai food.
“We have created this annual event to highlight the healthy options to our guests and to promote the wide range of organic cuisine that is readily available in Chiang Mai as there’s growing awareness of organic cuisine and its health benefits. At the same time, we’ll support local producers through this effort,” said Manfred Ilg, General Manager, 137 Pillars House. “Apart from enjoying the chefs’ cooking during the festival, guests can learn how to create their own menus through the cooking demonstrations, and take the knowledge home with them to incorporate into their daily lives.”

Hello there travel lovers !
We are Beer For Breakfast
After such a looooong journey we arrived at Chiang Mai
We actually intended to come here to celebrate Yi Peng festival or sometimes referred to as 'festival of lights' of 'lantern festival'. There is alot of conflicting or somewhat confusing information about this festival upon arrival and when you research on your own but we will do our best to explain exactly what happened here in Chiang Mai during this celebration
Today was simply an opening ceremony, which was a series of guest speakers and a small performance by dancers. Rumour has it that tomorrow we will be experiencing the release of lanterns. So come back for our next vlog very soon. Hopefully it will be magical.
Cheers to freedom !

Amazing Thailand Trip 2017 Part 1 Chiangmai
After the Morning Cup International Badminton Championship in Taipei last April my wife and I with the company of our son we decided to take part in the Sawasdee Cup International Badminton Tournament in Chiangmai, Thailand. It was a great experience playing in such a comparatively tougher international competition. We were also happy to have visited many interesting places during our stay in Chiangmai. Our journey continued when we ventured down south to the beautiful Khao Yai near Bangkok. We had our greatest time spending on the picturesque European style architecture as well as visiting some of the the nearby attractions.
