Marco Island, FL scuba diving with Sony RX100M2
Some footage taken at the Bogan's Barge and Bubba's dive sites 4/1/16. I used a Sony RX100M2 in a Nauticam housing with an INON UWL-100 28AD wide angle lens (some shots with a red filter, decided it was better without) and INON UCL-165AD diopter for the macro shots. Light & Motion Sola 800 and 1200 used as video lights.
Often lesser visibility in the gulf, but few other places will you see the endangered Goliath grouper, several of which are seen here. Including a big guy who appears mid-way thru the video, relaxing under the sunken barge. Just guessing, but I'm thinking 300+ lbs. for that fish?
Many thanks to the gang at Scuba Marco for a quality dive trip!

The Dolphin Explorer, Marco Island Florida
The Dolphin Explorer (Marco Island, Florida) departs from the Marco River Marina to the Gulf of Mexico to conduct a three-hour survey of the local population of bottlenose dolphins. The public is invited to join the survey team of naturalists and biologists, learn about and participate in the work of the 10,000 Island Dolphin Project, observe dolphins in their natural habitat. This eco-tour is part of a long term study to document the lives of coastal bottlenose dolphins of Southwest Florida. Over 170 dolphins have been photo ID'd, named, coded and cataloged to date.
We met Simon and his mom, Halfway; Nibbles and her calf, Jason; and many more dolphins.

MARCO ISLAND, FL
Beautiful Marco Island just outside (south of) Naples, FL.
No tolls to get in/out.
Blessed by God to live and/or work in this unique place.
CANADIAN Country Singer Shania Twain owns a piece of property on the island, obviously she knows where Paradise Land is located.
And with video it ends the 4th day of the 18-day road trip, next morning a sad farewell to FL's SW Coast but still 12 more days in The Sunshine State, tons of great videos to come.
Enjoy the trip.

Just another day at work in the Gulf of Mexico. Visibility wasn't the best, but we still had a nice dive. Saw plenty of jackknife, lizardfish, and a couple stone crabs too!

Driving onto Marco Island, Florida
The first vehicle bridge to the island was a small wooden swing bridge built in 1938 near Goodland on the southeast side of the island. Remnants of this bridge can be seen today next to the current Goodland Bridge (built in 1975). The island's ferry service was discontinued after the original Goodland Bridge opened.
Significant development of Marco Island took place in the 1960s that made it into the tourist destination it is known as today. The Mackle brothers of the Deltona Corporation led the development of the island after purchasing large amounts of land on the island for $7 million. As a result of development, the S.S. Jolley Bridge opened for traffic in 1969.[9]
Marco Island was reincorporated as a city on August 28, 1997
