Lunenburg County is a region situated on the South Shore of the Canadian territory of Nova Scotia. Real settlements incorporate Bridgewater, Lunenburg, and Mahone Bay.
Named out of appreciation for the British lord who was likewise the Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, it was set up in 1759 when the Nova Scotia promontory was isolated into five provinces. The province decreased when new districts were made from its limits: Queens (1762), Hants (1781), Shelburne (1784), and Sydney (1784).
By Chapter 52 of the Statutes of 1863, Lunenburg County has partitioned into two locales for court sessional purposes – Chester and Lunenburg. That resolution gave specialist to the arrangement of a Custos Rotulorum and for the foundation of general sessions of the harmony for the District of Chester, with indistinguishable forces from in the event that it was a different province. In 1879, the two regions were joined as locale regions.

Hooking by the Sea Retreats on Brier Island within the UNESCO Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve
At the tip of the Digby Neck on the Bay of Fundy, sits rustic and ecologically magical Brier Island, a stop over for migrating seabirds, where wild brier roses grow and whales swim in the nearby bay. What better setting for an idyllic farm, dedicated to keeping traditional farming methods alive? Here Victoria Graham offers guests unique Hooking By the Sea Retreats. From start to finish she'll share with you an adventure in hand raising the animals that grow the sheared, skirted, washed, carted, hand spun yarn that in turn creates the art, that you'll be working on. She'll teach you all about it, while she serves up a dose of local history and folklore tied innately to the UNESCO Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve.

Escape to Brier Island, Nova Scotia
Derek and I were feeling overwhelmed with the world and ran away to Brier Island. They were so kind to us there and the experience was so positive. We needed this time.
I thought I’d share some pictures. Also a few more ramblings from a grieving mom.

Everyone has dreamed of having their own island at one time or another... now is your chance to own a large portion of Nova Scotia's Seal Island in the Atlantic Ocean! The sky is the limit with this property of over 650 acres approximately 18 miles off Nova Scotia's southern coast on an island rich with history. The first record of today's Seal Island was made by Samuel Champlain who, in 1604, named it for the large number of seals basking on it's shores. Let your imagination soar with the thoughts of wonderful possibilities that come with owning a piece of Canadian history. Call for more information today.
