Whats to happen to Seven Peaks Water Park Duneland
Enchanted Forest was a small amusement park operated in Porter, Indiana. The park operated from 1957 to 1991.[1] Many rides were moved to Little Amerricka amusement park in Wisconsin after the park closed on August 2, 1991.[2] The park became Splash Down Dunes Water Park in 1994.[1] Splash Down Dunes itself closed down in 2009 after an ownership dispute;[1][3][4] the original owner regained ownership in 2010 but the park remained closed.[5] Splash Down Dunes was bought by Seven Peaks Water Park and it re-opened on May 27, 2013 as Seven Peaks Water Park Duneland.[6]
The location of the amusement park is at the intersection of U.S. Route 20 and Indiana State Road 49, north of Chesterton near the border of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Currently all of the Splash Down Dunes attractions are open with the exception of two inline tube slides which fed into the also closed lazy river.
In June 2017, the park was closed by state officials due to dozens of people receiving chlorine chemical burns. Malfunctioning equipment was determined to be the root cause. The park will reopen once it is in full compliance with health department regulations. The park will remain closed until all the deficiencies are rectified, according to Jo Penney, a spokeswoman for Seven Peaks.
The management of Seven Peaks Water Park Duneland has no plan nor does it have any intention of reopening unless it not only meets a 100 percent compliance inspection by the Porter County Health Department, but is also 100 percent assured of the park's safety status by certified aquatic specialists Green Frog Environmental LLC

Indiana Dunes State Park Lake Shore Chesterton, Indiana
Indiana Dunes consists of 2,182 acres of primitive, beautiful, historic and unique Hoosier landscape. It lies at the north end of State Road 49 in Porter County, and includes more than three miles of beautiful beach along Lake Michigan’s southern shore. In the early 1900s scientists, recreationists and nature enthusiasts, recognizing the value and potential of the Indiana dunes area, fought to have the region preserved. As a result, in 1925, the state park was established.
Large sand dunes, located beyond the entire shoreline, have taken thousands of years to form, and tower nearly 200 feet above Lake Michigan. A wide range of habitats and plant species are found in the park, with vegetation stabilizing some of the sand. These habitats provide homes for many types of plants and animals. The lake also provides habitat for many aquatic species, as well as a constantly changing fishery.
During the summer, swimming hours may change because of weather and staffing. Please contact the property office for exact times before your visit.

Hiking Cascade Mountain in Utah
WE SEE HERE CASCADE MOUNTAIN, one of the seven mountains that are referred to as the seven peaks of Utah county. Not to be confused with the water park of the same name, though a water slide down this fantastic mountain would be one thrilling ride!

CASCADE MOUNTAIN TRAIL.
Cascade Mountain is the least hiked of the seven peaks of Utah county. The main reason, because it’s the only one lacking an official trail. And, most people look at it and ask, Why would you even want to hike that one? Even now that I have summitted it a couple times, I look up at it's imposing west face and think, That is one crazy route!
THE SEVEN PEAKS OF UTAH COUNTY.
The most famous of the seven peaks is Timpanogos, which is hiked by thousands of people each year. This 11,752 foot monster is a marvelous mountain and has two popular trails to its top (Aspen Grove and Timpooneke). It’s accessibility and beauty are the obvious factors leading to its heavily trafficked trails.
The second most popular of the seven is Lone Peak, even though it is possibly the hardest one to conquer. Even though its summit is almost 500 feet shorter than Timp it’s legendary for the granite scramble to the top. There is no easy or short way to get to the top making it feel like a full marathon to complete.
The tallest of the seven peaks of Utah county and of the Wasatch range is Mount Nebo. Coming in at an elevation of 11,933 feet it is the highest point for miles and miles around. It’s worth your efforts to conquer.
The other three summits, Provo Peak (11,068 ft), Spanish Fork Peak (10,196 ft), and Loafer Mountain (10,687 ft) are all noble mountains in their own regard. Technically Loafer Mountain doesn’t have an official trail to it’s summit, but the Santaquin Peak trail gets you 97% of the way there. You just have to exit the trail when you come to the ridge that goes up to the summit.
THIRD ATTEMPT IS THE CHARM!
Cascade, coming in at 10,908 ft, is the fourth highest of the seven peaks and is a bit of a beast to conquer. After two failed attempts at its summit - 1) caused by going up the wrong chute on its steep west face and getting to the point where it was unsafe to continue and 2) caused by going up Big Springs Canyon, which never seems to end, and then along the south ridge which is quite rugged. Needless to say, we ran out of time and had to turn around before reaching the south summit. I finally bagged the summit, which is the middle peak, on my third attempt.
With the instructions of a hunter who knows the mountain like the back of his hand, my Dad and I were able to find the correct route up the cliff strewn west face. Though it is only a 3 mile round trip hike, making it the shortest route of any of the seven peaks, it is a constant step master. The thighs and buns were sure feeling the strain on this one. However, because you rise so quickly and because there is nothing to block your view west you get stunning views of the valley below. Sadly the day we summited there were many fires out west. The thick smoke screened our view, but it was interesting to see how the smoke wound its way through the valleys and over mountain ranges.
One of the best things about hiking Cascade Mountain is the fact that it doesn’t have a trail. This deters many from hiking it, which equals a hike with almost no one else around. The only company is yourself, any hiking buddies, the hawk that flies south and then north again along the breadth of the mountain, and the plethora of mountain goats that reside on the top portions of the mountain.

WE SEE HERE TRIVIA!
