Sevilla or Seville, Spain is one of the best cities to visit in Spain. It is well worth the trip, whether for its flamenco flair or bullfighting history the city has much to offer. Here is our list of the top 10 sites to see when you visit Seville.
1. Hike up the Giralda. Go up 90 meters in the tower to see the amazing views of the city of Sevilla.
2. Tour inside the cathedral. The Sevilla cathedral is one of the largets churches in Spain and is stock full of amazing chapels and tombs (even Columbus is here).
3. The Alcazar. the former gardans and mini palaces of the royal residence of Sevilla over the years.
4. Plaza de Espana. A leftover of a non-existent exposition, but what a left over it is. Amazing architecture as well as some little museums and it gives you a reprieve from the urban heat.

6. Celebrating Holy Week (Semana Santa) and the April Fair in Sevilla.

8. Bairro Santa Cruz. The small streets where you feel like you walk into the past in the old Jewish Quarter.
9. Walk on the riverfront and see the Torre de Oro, Gold Tower.

Sevilla
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Sevilla is the flamboyant city of Carmen and Don Juan, where bullfighting is still politically correct and little girls dream of growing up to become flamenco dancers. Sevilla has soul — and we feel it in its lacy Moorish palace, massive cathedral, lavish royal tombs, labyrinthine Jewish quarter, and its people-filled streets.

Top Things To Do In Seville, Spain (food, tourist attractions and more)
Seville in Spain is filled with things to do. From the beautiful Plaza De Espana and the Real Alcazar to tasty tapas bars and food markets. Are you ready to tour sunshiney Seville with me?
Just announced as Lonely Planet's number 1 city in their Best In Travel 2018, Seville is vibrant, historic, cultural and full of things to do. On my recent trip I spent three days in the city, and covered a lot! I climbed Giralda Tower for the best views of the city, got lost in the stunning gardens of the Real Alcazar De Sevilla, and returned to my favourite spot in the city – Plaza De Espana.
Food is a huge passion of mine, so I was also keen to find out more about the food scene. I headed off on a tour with Devour Seville and saw the local markets, tried some tasty delicacies and learned lots about the city too. I also loved my time visiting some of the oldest restaurants in the city including Casa Ricardo and El Rinconcillo. Hey, I even got to whip up a little tapas dish myself! I hope you enjoy my trip as much as I did.
This video was produced in collaboration with Lonely Planet, and features the book Spain: From The Source:

Sevilla: Spain's Speciality? | Fostered Culture Travel Vlog (2019)
Day 22 of Fostered Culture's EuroTrip 2018/2019!
Today was all about seeing and exploring Sevilla's city centre!
After realising I was going to be late for an awesome 2-1 burger lunch, I had to test out my travel skills, and find my way to the restaurant without google maps (because I stupidly closed it down and couldn't reopen it without wifi). However, it gave me the chance to tell you all how great travelling is for your sense of direction and natural ability to keep on the right track!
After finding Noa and having an awesome burger lunch, we headed off to explore the city centre, taking us past a few beautiful sights, the Cathedral and down to the river!
The weather, although it being the middle of Europe, was like a sunny summer day! Just goes to show how beautiful Europe can be in the middle of January, if you know where to go!
Let's Keep FOSTERING this CULTURE of TRAVEL!

10 Things to do in Sevilla
The Via de la Plata starts in the magnificent city of Seville. This Camino de Santiago route was first of all a trading road used by the Romans to join the North and the South of Spain and it is by far the longest Camino (1000km). Seville is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of Andalusia, situated on the plains of the River Guadalquivir. Seville has a metropolitan population of about 1.5 million, making it the fourth-largest city in Spain. Its Old Town, the third largest in Europe with an area of 4 square kilometres, contains three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Alcázar palace complex, the Cathedral and the General Archive of the Indies.
I lived in this beautiful Seville for six months so I have compiled 10 things that you should do in Seville if you are starting your Camino there:
1-The Cathedral of St. Mary
It is among the largest of all medieval and Gothic cathedrals, in terms of both area and volume. The interior is the longest nave in Spain, and is lavishly decorated, with a large quantity of gold. The most impressive and iconic part is the Giralda Tower, the views from the top are amazing.
2-The General Archive of the Indies
This archive is the repository of extremely valuable archival documents illustrating the history of the Spanish Empire in the Americas and the Philippines. The building itself is an unusually serene and Italianate example of Spanish Renaissance architecture.
3-The Alcázar
is a royal palace facing the cathedral. It is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe. Every inch of the palace is covered in intricate detail, the mix of architectural styles is fabulous and the gardens are stunning. The Alcázar Gardens, within the grounds of the Alcázar palace, consist of several sectors developed in different periods and styles.
4-Plaza de España
The Plaza de España, in María Luisa Park (Parque de María Luisa), has some incredible buildings, a giant fountain, and a little moat surrounding it. It's one of the most stunning spots in Sevilla. The Plaza de España has tiled displays for each region of Spain, showing scenes from each region. They're really detailed and amazing to look at.
5-The Torre del Oro
was built by the Almohad dynasty as a watchtower and defensive barrier on the river. A chain was strung through the water from the base of the tower to prevent boats from traveling into the river port.
6-The Parque de María Luisa (María Luisa Park)
is a monumental public park that stretches along the Guadalquivr River. It is Seville's main green area.
7-Real Maestranza, Bullfight Ring
This is this typical example of a Spanish bullring. It has an enormous capacity, holding up to 13,000 spectators, once inside it is really impressive.
8-The Metropol Parasol, in Encarnación square
is the world's largest wooden structure. A monumental umbrella-like building designed by a German architect, it was finished in 2011. This modern architecture structure houses the central market and an underground archaeological complex. The terrace roof is a good city viewpoint.
9-See a flamenco dance in a restaurant
The western district of Triana has plenty of restaurants and bars where you can drink, eat and watch Flamenco. Equally you can find a lot of bars like that in the Barrio Santa Cruz district.
10-And finally don't forget to go for some Tapas!
There are over 4,000 amazing tapas bars in the city, you must try it once at least.

Visiting Sevilla (Or Seville, if you want)
Spain. July 2012. The wife and I. Four days of sun, squares and sangria. The churches were pretty cool. Plenty of fine banter and tower-top voyeurism.
