Simbithi Eco Estate
Take a trip through the beautiful Simbithi Eco Estate Get more info about this estate, here:
Considered one of the premier coastal residential estates in South Africa, the spectacular Simbithi Eco Estate affords a unique and secure high quality living environment that preserves and enhances the existing natural ecosystem of the area.
About the area
The Dolphin Coast is a beautiful playground of warm waters, incredible waves, excellent fishing spots and glorious beaches which is home to coastal holiday towns like Ballito, Salt Rock, Umdloti and Zinkwazi.
Ballito is the Pearl of the Dolphin Coast, having originated as far back as 1953, whose name was gleaned from a magazine advertisement meaning Little Ball, which became a town board in 1966. Ballito reached borough status in 1986 and is well known for its superb and safe beaches.
Living in Ballito is considered pure heaven on earth - an old fashioned neighbourhood and small town where everyone knows everyone. The area has a homely feeling and it attracts people from all over with its rustic lifestyle in the lush green surrounds and its world-class estates on offer, such as Zimbali Coastal Resort and Simbithi Eco-Estate.
While life in Ballito is laid-back, its night life doesn’t disappoint, with plenty of evening activities to indulge in - like; Lucky Shakers bar for a night of dancing, Hops pub, Crush nightclub, CoCo Del Mare, the East Oasis cocktail lounge and various exotic cuisine venues to choose from, along with the night market at the Litchi Orchard.
And during the day, residents take full advantage of the surf-based activities on offer, with fishing, cycling, surfing, paddle- boarding and swimming being popular activities, and a 2,5km promenade a boon for joggers and walkers.
While Ballito’s promenade and beach are great for those who enjoy an active lifestyle, it also has a great selection of restaurants and coffee shops scattered along the promenade to cater for those who love good food and relaxation.
For those who love a little retail therapy, there are a number of shopping centres in the area to meet all of your retail needs. The newest mall to launch in the vibrant heart of the Dolphin Coast is the Ballito Junction Regional Mall which opened its doors in March 2017. The mall exemplifies modern elegance and style and offers convenience combined with a world-class shopping experience.
Alternative malls include the Ballito Lifestyle Centre which provides many great stores conveniently situated central to the neighbourhood and the Quarter Boutique Shopping Centre which offers an eclectic mix of retail shops, exclusive art and décor opportunities, professional business services, health and beauty outlets and upmarket café restaurants.
The town is also home to many educational institutions and private schools, including Ashton College and Trinity House, with Crawford North Coast in neighbouring Westbrook Beach and, at Mount Richmore, Curro School.
About the estate
Simbithi Eco Estate is the first estate of its kind in the area and offers home owners the best of lifestyle orientated facilities with a foundation built firmly on eco-friendliness. The estate is considered a natural, coastal paradise with dense, indigenous riverine vegetation, lush valley wetlands, undulating hills and distant, breath-taking vistas.
Simbithi is 430ha and is situated between Ballito and Salt Rock along the Dolphin Coast and offers a total outdoor experience which includes 25 dams, mountain biking, hiking, tennis and an adventure playground to enhance the estate’s sense of community.

Nureyev
This striking and moving documentary from BAFTA nominated directors Jacqui and David Morris traces the extraordinary life of Rudolf Nureyev. From his birth in the 5th class carriage of a trans-Siberian train, to his dramatic leap to freedom in the West at the height of the Cold War, and unprecedented adulation as the most famous dancer in the world. The film highlights Nureyev’s unlikely yet legendary partnership with Margot Fonteyn and charts his meteoric rise to the status of global cultural phenomenon. Nureyev’s life plays out like the sweeping plot of a classic Russian novel. His story is Russia’s story. Blending never-before-seen footage, with an original score by award-winning composer Alex Baranowski and spellbinding newly choreographed dance tableaux directed by Royal Ballet alumnus, Russell Maliphant, Nureyev is a theatrical and cinematic experience like no other. This is a portrayal as unique as the man himself. There will never be another Nureyev.
Calling All Cars: The Bad Man / Flat-Nosed Pliers / Skeleton in the Desert
The radio show Calling All Cars hired LAPD radio dispacher Jesse Rosenquist to be the voice of the dispatcher. Rosenquist was already famous because home radios could tune into early police radio frequencies. As the first police radio dispatcher presented to the public ear, his was the voice that actors went to when called upon for a radio dispatcher role.
The iconic television series Dragnet, with LAPD Detective Joe Friday as the primary character, was the first major media representation of the department. Real LAPD operations inspired Jack Webb to create the series and close cooperation with department officers let him make it as realistic as possible, including authentic police equipment and sound recording on-site at the police station.
Due to Dragnet's popularity, LAPD Chief Parker became, after J. Edgar Hoover, the most well known and respected law enforcement official in the nation. In the 1960s, when the LAPD under Chief Thomas Reddin expanded its community relations division and began efforts to reach out to the African-American community, Dragnet followed suit with more emphasis on internal affairs and community policing than solving crimes, the show's previous mainstay.
Several prominent representations of the LAPD and its officers in television and film include Adam-12, Blue Streak, Blue Thunder, Boomtown, The Closer, Colors, Crash, Columbo, Dark Blue, Die Hard, End of Watch, Heat, Hollywood Homicide, Hunter, Internal Affairs, Jackie Brown, L.A. Confidential, Lakeview Terrace, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Life, Numb3rs, The Shield, Southland, Speed, Street Kings, SWAT, Training Day and the Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour and Terminator film series. The LAPD is also featured in the video games Midnight Club II, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, L.A. Noire and Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
The LAPD has also been the subject of numerous novels. Elizabeth Linington used the department as her backdrop in three different series written under three different names, perhaps the most popular being those novel featuring Det. Lt. Luis Mendoza, who was introduced in the Edgar-nominated Case Pending. Joseph Wambaugh, the son of a Pittsburgh policeman, spent fourteen years in the department, using his background to write novels with authentic fictional depictions of life in the LAPD. Wambaugh also created the Emmy-winning TV anthology series Police Story. Wambaugh was also a major influence on James Ellroy, who wrote several novels about the Department set during the 1940s and 1950s, the most famous of which are probably The Black Dahlia, fictionalizing the LAPD's most famous cold case, and L.A. Confidential, which was made into a film of the same name. Both the novel and the film chronicled mass-murder and corruption inside and outside the force during the Parker era. Critic Roger Ebert indicates that the film's characters (from the 1950s) represent the choices ahead for the LAPD: assisting Hollywood limelight, aggressive policing with relaxed ethics, and a straight arrow approach.

With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he.
