Ancaster Creek plunges 17 metres (56 ft) to form Sherman Falls, a terraced ribbon falls with an 8 metre crest. In 1798, Richard and Samuel Hatt built their nearby Red Mill gristmill, using the creek to power an 11 metre (36 ft) undershot wheel. Clifton and Frank Sherman, 1912-14 founders of Dofasco steel works, later bought Francis Whitton's estate including the waterfall.

Discover: SHERMAN'S FALLS (Hamilton ON)!
Sherman Falls is a large, beautiful, and tranquil waterfall in Hamilton Ontario. It is located on the Bruce Trail and isn't as crowded as many of Hamilton's other waterfalls.
Sherman Falls has been known by many names, depending on who owned the property at the time. Samuel Smith and the Egleston family, both owned the land at one time. Francis Whitton bought the farm and landscaped it with spacious lawns and the beautiful gardens. He built a large elegant home, a garage, greenhouse and gardener’s cottage. The Whitton home was sold to the Sherman family. Clifton Sherman, an American with years of experience in foundry management, established the Dominion Foundries and Steel Co. (Dofasco) in 1912. Members of the Sherman family became well-known in the local community and managed Dofasco for decades until Frank Sherman stepped down. After the death of Frank Sherman, Colin Dunbar bought the property. It is from the Sherman family that the waterfall got its name. This property has again been sold (2007 or 2008).
Directions to the waterfall can be found here: (Parking can be found in the provincial park a block away)

Sherman Falls is a beautiful, high curtain waterfall.
Tiffany Falls:
It is 17 metres tall and its water source is provided by the Ancaster Creek. This pretty waterfall is not well know and is very secluded. It is a perfect place to take fun, romantic walks. It is a very peaceful and relaxing area that is perfect for yoga and or meditation.
It is located at the intersection of Old Dundas road and Lions Club road and is a part of the Bruce Trail. It is one of the over 100 waterfalls in the Hamilton area that make up The City of Waterfalls. Make sure you check out this awesome place nature has provided and take in all of the great scenery. Have fun on a leisurely stroll. They are pretty spectacular after a heavy rain storm. The amount of water flowing over is huge. Very powerful. Super epic and awesome!
I wouldn't suggest climbing it. That would be pretty dangerous and you don't want to fall and injury yourself. That would not be a good time.
