Some 200,000 people took part in Tel Aviv's Gay Pride Parade on Friday, of which approximately 30,000 had joined the celebrations from abroad, organizers said. With many roads closed to traffic for the occasion, the parade made its way through the heart of the city to the waterfront in a display of floats, music, dancers and rainbow flags.

It was the city's 19th pride parade and according to Tel Aviv's municipality, the largest in the Middle East and Asia, with a high number of international revelers arriving over the course of the week to take part in the parade and its related events. This year, the theme of the parade was bisexual visibility.
Not everyone at the parade was there to celebrate, however. Dozens of Israeli LGBTQ activists at one point blocked the Tel Aviv parade in protest against Israel's occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The protesters erected a mock separation barrier upon which was written, “There’s no pride in occupation, the website +972 Magazine reported. The protesters prevented the parade from proceeding through the city center for a few minutes, but were swiftly moved by police.
Pride parades are expected to be held in Be'er Sheva and Haifa and August in Jerusalem later on this month.

* One of the biggest expenses when traveling is accommodation, and this is particularly true of Israel. Many travelers complain that they would have expected more for the price they paid. This is why I’ve added a budget option in each area: these are hostels and chans, many of which also offer private rooms.
* When you sleep outside the cities, in the Negev or the Galilee, I recommend that you go for a different kind of accommodation, such as chavot bodedim, which means “lonesome farms”, or airuach kibbutzi, which involves sleeping in hotels in kibbutzim.
* There is no such thing as THE BEST hotel. It is all about what is right for you and a random recommendation won’t give you the information you need.
I’m not just talking about the budget. Let's say you’re looking for a hotel in Tel Aviv. What is important to you? Do you want to be able to see the sea from your room and be located right on the promenade? Do you like markets and want to be a stone’s throw from the flea market? Or do you see Tel Aviv as a base for other tours and prefer to be close to Ayalon (the main highway that runs through Tel Aviv)?
* At the end of the day, you spend quite a lot of time in your accommodation, and you almost always eat there, so it should be good.

All the Israeli news and TV channels like Arutz Sheva, Jerusalem Post, Haaretz, VICE news, CNN, BBC and The New York Times, only report the occasional extreme terrorism and terrorist attacks, boring international politics, Orthodox VS Secular conflicts, and IDF military operations. We’re making a reality news channel to show you what it’s like to live in Jerusalem, to go shopping in the Jerusalem market, and to taste all the local traditional foods at the restaurants and cafes. Falafel and shawarma anyone? Israel has some of the most talented street performers in the world, and we’ll show you the side of Israel Got Talent that is too good for the television series as we check out the street entertainers in the merkaz, watching Middle Eastern entertainment at its finest. And most importantly, for those experienced travelers who are more interested in old fashioned tourism, we’ll be going to all the historic sites and archaeological digs, like the Kotel (Western Wall, Wailing Wall) by the Temple Mount, The City of David, Ancient Synagogues all over Israel, Ancient Graveyards, the Mediterranean coast, and Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), as well as all the mystical Kabbalistic locations.
