UPDATE Sheyenne River Valley
Some more North Dakota landscape...couldn't wait to talk to everyone again...so I shot some more scenery. Headed back up to Williston tomorrow.
North Dakota Waterfall
An ambling two-mile hike on 07 Aug 2015 I took through forest and plain to visit North Dakota's only natural waterfall in the Sheyenne State Forest near Fort Ransom along the Sheyenne River Valley Scenic Byway.
To reach the Martinson Bridge trailhead from the community of Fort Ransom, head southeast on the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway (Valley Rd.) and look for signs for the Martinson Bridge Trailhead located about 1-mile south on 122nd St. SE. GPS: N 46.514° & W 97.868°.

Milwaukee 261 - Davenport to Lisbon, N.D - Boarding
On July 19, 1987, the Red River Valley & Western began operations on track it acquired from Burlington Northern Railroad. Since that time the railroad has added more customers, upgraded its track, and been recognized as one of the most successful regional railroads in the United States.
To mark its 30th Anniversary, Red River Valley & Western and the Friends of the 261 are teaming up to offer a series of special anniversary excursion trains pulled by Milwaukee Road steam locomotive No. 261. This will be a rare opportunity to ride several rail lines that have seen only freight service for decades. The trips will offer Coach, First Class, Dome Class and Premium Class seating, including dome car seating in the Friends of the 261’s Super Dome 53 and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum’s Silver Club, making its first trips.
Thursday June 1 and Friday, June 2, 2017
Each day No. 261 will pull a three-hour, 74-mile round trip evening excursion from Fargo/Davenport to Lisbon, N.D. Trains will depart Davenport at 6 p.m. for the journey over the former Northern Pacific Railway’s Fargo & Southwestern Branch, now Red River Valley & Western’s Fourth Subdivision. Just outside Lisbon the railroad enters North Dakota’s first nationally recognized scenic byway, the scenic Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway. The tree-lined, rolling hills of this valley are speckled with quaint towns and farmsteads, lending to its American charm. In addition to nature and scenery, archaeology, history, culture, and recreation are all found along this byway. The Davenport to Lisbon route has not seen passenger service since 1960-61.
Round trip mileage from Fargo/Davenport to Lisbon is 74 miles.

Drive from Ogden, UT to Evanston, WY - Sept 2017
Staying in Ogden for a few days, which is not too far away from the WY state border. Of course, I had to at least drive there for dinner, so I could check visit Wyoming off my to-do list. So, I googled some restaurants in Evanston, and found the perfect sounding Wyoming spot. Tumblin' Tumbleweeds Restaurant.

The Best Places to Visit in North Dakota
The Best Places to Visit in North Dakota
For a wild, outdoor adventure, North Dakota offers unspoiled wilderness and beautiful park lands. Of the lower 48 states, it is one of America's most scenic. Also known for haunted places stories, North Dakota seems to have the more friendly type of spirits. North Dakota's beauty inspired Theodore Roosevelt to establish the National Forest Service. As well as stunning scenery, the state presents a fascinating glimpse into the history and culture of the region through its museums and historic sites. Adventurers like Lewis and Clark, President Theodore Roosevelt, and Sakakawea have traveled these rugged lands before you and may even inspire you to make a mark on history too.
Pack up your hiking boots and head off on a North Dakota adventure. For many travelers, a trip to North Dakota conjures up images of snow, cold, and wide open spaces. Yet this is a place to unleash your inner explorer with exciting outdoor activities, and a wide variety of accommodations.

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

Somewhere in Beautiful Wyoming
Here's raw, uncensored footage of my way into Wyoming after checking out the Yankee Fork Dredge and a ghost town near Stanley and the Craters of the Moon National Park. I headed back on the 75 towards Sun Valley and then into wonderful farmland with these huge valleys, green stuff being watered by the newly engineered irrigation systems, and beautiful lakes, rivers, and mountains. Hmmm. Maybe I should shorten that sentence. I'm on the 26
