Kobe Ropeway Views & Mountain Hiking, Kobe Japan | 神戸
Beautiful hiking trail around Kobe & the mountains.
Quick video to show you some good views of Kobe from above. If you take the hiking trail from Kitano to this lovely waterfall in amongst the mountains, along the way you will get to see great views of kobe city from above.
We even got to see Kobe-Shin Station where several bullet trains were departing. Amongst the trees you can also get views of the cable cars going up and down the rope way. This is a good way to get out of the city and explore the beautiful nature Japan has to offer.

【4K】Walking near Shin-Kobe station
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
This is my second stop on the way to Hiroshima - Kobe city. I stopped at Shin-Kobe station and because I did not have much time I walk nearby. The station is located near mountain garden so it has as city views as nature views. To get to the garden you may use ropeway to climb up and walk down.
Time 11/02 about 3pm
Filmed in UltraHD 4K 60p with Lumix GH5 camera, 8-18 f2.8-4 lens, Beholder EC1 stabilizer and Audio-Technica AT9946CM mic.
Feel free to correct my English or suggest a video to film.
Nunobiki falls (布引の滝)and fireworks adventure hike ||Kobe ||Japan|| Sony a6000
An adventurous hiking through Nunobiki falls(布引の滝) in Kobe,Japan ended with fireworks view from the top .Thanks to IMAC Osaka family for this waterfall and fireworks adventure hiking opportunity.
Nunobiki Falls (布引の滝 Nunobiki no Taki) is a set of waterfalls near downtown Kobe, Japan, with an important significance in Japanese literature and Japanese art. In Japan, Nunobiki is considered one of the greatest divine falls together with Kegon Falls and Nachi Falls. One of the best nature spots that we had in the places that we visited in Japan. Just outside Shin-Kobe station, a short walk will get you to the Nunobiki falls.
Kobe Japan Hiking Trail
Beautiful spring day for a hike. Nunobiki Falls, views of the city and the dam and reservoir supplying Kobe with clean mountain water. Start at Shin Kobe station...
Shin Kobe to Kitano Course
Beautiful city views, cool mountain breeze and comfortable flat trails make the ShinKobe to Kitano course a nice relaxing jog.
Shin-Kobe Ropeway (新神戸ロープウェー) | 2019
Shin-Kobe Ropeway (新神戸ロープウェー) is one of three services that lifts tourists up the southern slopes of the Rokko mountain chain. The ropeway departs from next to Shin-Kobe Station, Kobe's shinkansen station. As it ascends, it passes by the Nunobiki Waterfall and the Nunobiki Herb Garden, giving a nice aerial view of both. The highlight of the ride lies in the observation deck located just beside the top station, which offers spectacular views of Kobe and is a popular night view spot.
An alternative way to get to the top station is via a hiking trail from Shin-Kobe Station. It is somewhat surprising that only a few steps north of the station are forests shielded from the rumbles of the city. A 15-20 minute climb through the woods takes you to the 43 meter tall Nunobiki Waterfall, whose name comes from its draped cloth-like appearance. Five minutes east from here is the Miharashi Observatory, which offers decent views of the city.
A further 20 minute scale up the mountain takes you to the middle station of Shin-Kobe Ropeway and the lower entrance of Nunobiki Herb Garden, one of Japan's largest herb gardens with hundreds of herb species and seasonal flowers. A glasshouse in the garden makes growing flowers and fruits such as guavas and papayas possible throughout the year.
Nunobiki Waterfall
At the upper entrance of the garden is the top station of Shin-Kobe Ropeway. Here, in addition to the observation deck, is a rest house with a cafe, restaurant and souvenir shop which sells many herbal and aromatic products. There is also a Rose Symphony Garden, where visitors can enjoy viewing different varieties of roses during their blooming seasons while listening to music.
For hikers who would rather skip the garden, the top station and observation deck can be hiked to following a 30 minute trail that bypasses the garden on its east. After reaching the ropeway's top station, the same trail continues on to Mount Maya, one of the peaks of the Rokko mountain chain.

Hiking Mount Rokko, near Kobe Japan (Kansai's best 100 mountains, #20)
Mount Rokko (Elevation:931m)
Location: Hyogo Prefecture (Day trip from Osaka, Kobe).
(Google Map: )
Walking time: 4hrs 40mins
Distance: 12.1kms total
Hiking Elevation: 1179m up, 840m down
Difficulty: Intermediate level
Climbing season: mid-March ~ end-November
Notes: A scenic hike highlighting the best of the Rokko mountain range. Great sweeping views from the top, all the way from Kobe to Osaka, and as far as Awaji island and Wakayama. Finish up with a bath in one of the oldest (and one of the 3 “most famous”) hot springs areas in Japan, Arima Onsen. Warning: watch out for cheeky wild boars. If you encounter them, don’t run (and don’t feed them). Just relax, try not to startle them, and stay out of their way as much as possible.
Music: Winterlight, from the Album In This Moment, by Richard Goldsworthy
ROUTE DIRECTIONS:
Disclaimer: The directions only represent my personal experience. I accept no responsibility for any losses or injuries resulting from following these directions. Hike safe!
Get off at Ashiya-gawa station, and walk north along the west side of Ashiya river. Follow the signs for 高座の滝, and fill your water bottle at the fountain in the park on the right. At the post box take the left fork, then the road turns hard left at a nice apartment building, then follow it (don't turn right immediately) until you see the next sign at the next fork, pointing up to the right. Walk straight up the hill until you reach the little waterfall and start of the official hiking trail (and the last toilet until the top of the mountain). (Get directions to here: )
Head up the trail to the left, and then up to your right, and the steep climb up through the rock garden starts. Don’t forget to turn around sometimes to enjoy the view!
When you reach the giant power line tower at 風吹岩 (means= “wind-swept rock”), turn right up the slope, and follow the course through Ashiya Country Club Golf Course (don’t forget to close the gate so the wild boar don’t get in/out). The course climbs again steadily after that, with the occasional downhill to cross small streams (don’t worry there are stepping stones so your feet shouldn’t get wet). After a final long steady uphill, you will arrive at the 一軒茶屋, a teahouse which has been operating since the Edo-era.
Head up the final slope to the top of Mount Rokko, and enjoy the amazing views. Hopefully you have good weather! Then head back down, and turn left onto the small path at the edge of the parking lot. It’s a pleasant downhill stroll all the way to Arima Onsen.
Turn right when you reach the road, then after you pass the big nice hotel on your left, turn left down the stairs, past the Tansansengen park, and through the quaint village, all the way to the bus stop. (End hike point: ). For trains back to Kobe, Arima Onsen station is only a short walk past the main tourist intersection.
