Shrigley Hall bedroom. Considering the size of the place and the apparent prestige, the rooms are rubbish. I looked into a room where it was being made up and it looked just as bag as mine. I hope they have better rooms somewhere. The rest of the hotel is nice. the views are good. the swimming pool looks good. will try that out soon.
I tried a chicken and bacon Panini from the bar. it was easily the worst I've ever had. the chicken was cold. the bacon hot. the cheese was only melted where it touched the bacon. the rest of the cheese slices were cold. overall rubbish.

This beautiful country house hotel is set in 262 acres of spectacular countryside and boasts an 18 hole championship golf course. Built in 1825 it retains many of its impressive original features such as the elaborate painted domed ceiling over the main grand stair-case. Located in the Peak District it is just 15 miles south of Manchester and only 11 miles from the spa town of Buxton. This hotel is not suitable for those with signi cant walking di culties mainly because of the layout of the property.

drive at 550 yrd 3rd Macdonald Portal Championship Course Cheshire
This is a fantastic hole - very high tee position playing 604yrds from whites - Im playing off yellows at 550 yrds. Good solid drive (about 310) but ended just to the left off fairway, took a 5 wood to just short of the water and then a chip over, 2 putts for par! Benross V5 driver (birthday present from jo)
