Places to see in ( Bromsgrove - UK )
Bromsgrove is a town in Worcestershire, England. Bromsgrove is about 16 miles north-east of Worcester and 13 miles south-west of Birmingham city centre. Bromsgrove is the main town in the larger Bromsgrove District.
There is a statue of Alfred Edward Housman in the high street, which was erected in 1985. There is also a sculpture of a dryad and boar in the high street, commemorating the work of the Bromsgrove Guild. Bromsgrove is home to Grafton Manor which dates back to the 14th century. It has a rich history, with one of the daughters of John Talbot married to Robert Wintour, who was involved in the Gunpowder plot.
Many of Bromsgrove's residents find employment in Birmingham, Redditch, Worcester and other places along the motorway network. MG Rover was a major employer of Bromsgrove residents until its collapse in May 2005. Bromsgrove is still home to LG Harris Ltd. Bromsgrove District Council is aiming to create a technology corridor along the A38 to take advantage of the area's road links.
Bromsgrove is intersected by the A38 which was bypassed to the east of the town in 1980, the M5 motorway borders the west side and the M42 motorway starts at the north of the town. Bromsgrove railway station is situated to the south of the town.
Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings has its home in Bromsgrove. This museum includes the National telephone kiosk Collection. The Bromsgrove Museum on Birmingham Road reopened in May 2016. The Worcester and Birmingham Canal which runs close to Bromsgrove, is a destination for leisure activities such as walking and coarse fishing and there are several narrowboat hire centres situated in nearby villages. The Tardebigge lock flight, with 30 locks, is the longest in the UK. Bromsgrove is 5 miles (8.0 km) away from the historic country house Hanbury Hall, which is open to the public. The town's leisure venues include a nightclub featuring a mixture of styles, and pubs in the town centre include a Wetherspoons pub, a Slug and Lettuce pub and a number of traditional pubs. Bromsgrove is close to the countryside attractions of the Lickey Hills, the Clent Hills, the Waseley Hills.

Drive around Bristol Centre to Check Out British Restaurants
With our Australian cousins due to make a flying visit to Bristol as part of their extensive tour of the UK, and wishing to meet up with us for an evening meal during their visit, we felt it would be most appropriate to take them to a Traditional British Restaurant.
In deciding which venue would be most suitable when they visit, we decided to make a tour of some of our favourite local haunts, starting with the Hole in the Wall in the centre of Bristol, and after checking out the numerous restaurants, cafes and other eateries along the Harbourside and on the city centre, make our way back to some of our favourite restaurants near where we live.
The Hole in the Wall was our first choice because it’s near the City Centre, the building itself is c1746, and when we went there years ago was a very Traditional British Restaurant. However, on our revisit, although the menu is still ‘British’ the seating (at least down stairs) was more ‘casual’ (reclining), more suited to relaxed ‘pub’ socialising than sitting up at the table for a 2 hour three course meal.
When we parked up at the Harbourside to check out the vast number of eateries along the waterfront, most cater for ‘international’ taste, and the one place we did find that does British Food, the ‘Slug and Lettuce’ (Cocktail Bar on the Harbourside) the building was too modern e.g. clinical, with no olde British atmosphere.
Moving onto the City Centre, we did spot the Drawbridge (next to the famous Hippodrome Theatre), a pub that we’ve used before, and which does excellent Traditional British ‘Pub Grub’, which could possibly be a good choice; but we concluded that being a popular pub on the City Centre it might be too busy, and noisy, to be difficult to enjoy a quiet chat with family and friends over a meal.
Therefore, we headed out for the ‘Snuff Mill’ Harvester Restaurant in Frenchay, Bristol (just 10 minutes from where we live). It’s a favourite haunt of ours, and very Traditional British Food, in a Traditional British setting; including the indoor fishpond in the middle of the restaurant.

Arjun Singh Student At Nottingham Trent University, UK Killed In Assault Near Slug And Lettuce Pub In Long Row, Nottingham
Nottinghamshire Police said a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder investigation of Arjun Singh, also aged 20, who was attacked on Saturday evening and died in hospital on Sunday.
London: An Indian-origin student has been killed following an assault near a pub in Nottingham, a city the Midlands region of England.
Nottinghamshire Police said a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder investigation of Arjun Singh, also aged 20, who was attacked on Saturday evening and died in hospital on Sunday.
A team of detectives has been working tirelessly on the investigation and a man is now in custody being questioned on suspicion of murder, said Detective Inspector Richard Monk, of Nottinghamshire Police.
I would like to reiterate that the family of Arjun have expressed their wishes to retain their privacy at this incredibly difficult time. We still want to hear from witnesses, people with video footage and anyone with information about the incident, he said.
Mr Singh, a student at Nottingham Trent University, was assaulted near the Slug and Lettuce pub on Long Row in Nottingham. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre nearby but succumbed to his injuries a day later.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. We are liaising with the police and will be offering support to students and staff who may be affected by this news, a Nottingham Trent University spokesperson said.

Man, 20, murdered in early hours city centre attack near Slug and Lettuce pub
A 20-year-old man has died after he was attacked in the street in the early hours. Arjun Singh died in hospital after he was assaulted in Nottingham city centre at roughly 4am on Saturday. The Nottingham Trent University student was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment, but could not be saved. Police have now launched a murder investigation in the wake of his death, Nottingham Post reported . Detective Inspector Richard Monk, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: This was a serious assault which has resulted in a young man losing his life. Our thoughts with Arjun's family and friends and we would ask that people respect their privacy at this very sad and difficult time. It is really important that if anyone has any information that could help the enquiry, no matter how small it may be, they come forward immediately. Have you been affected by this story? Email webnews@mirror.co.uk If you were in the area of the Slug and Lettuce public house around 3.45am on Saturday morning and have not yet spoken to the police, I would urge you to come forward. We need to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage, including taxi-drivers who were in the area of Long Row West and Angel Row at the time, or any mobile phone footage of the incident. Police are eager to trace two men who fled the scene on foot following the incident. For much of Saturday a cordon was put in place around Slug and Lettuce, Subway and the British Heart Foundation shop. Yesterday morning Pete Knowles, from news paper delivery company MSR Newsgroup, said: “I have no idea what happened. All I saw was someone on the floor with a blue blanket over them. There were two ambulances that came and then police cars. I think it was a lad. There was someone else laying on the floor next to him and then he (the one who was laying with him) got in the police car and went with the ambulance. I saw an ambulance sped off. I was doing my newspaper delivery. I guess something serious has happened. They don’t normally close the road off.” Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist detectives with their enquiries is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 132 of 18 January 2020. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Man, 20, murdered in early hours city centre attack near Slug and Lettuce pub

Introducing the latest quest...
Title: The Quest Writer
We continue bringing you news from the TFNation 2020 guest line-up, and we remain in the realm of comics: please join us in welcoming once again Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye and Lost Light writer James Roberts!
Roberts has been recognised as the fan-favourite - and award winning - writer from the previous incarnation of the IDW Transformers universe, and is know for his penchant for political issues, representation attempts, and humanising 'robot' characters. While no longer writing for our favourite Cybertronians, his skills have recently been spotted in IDW Publishing's comics mini-series based on the eponymous RPG, Starcadia Quest.
He has been part of the Transformers UK landscape since the very early days, and is one of the many fans who were able to make it into 'canonical', professional side of the franchise, helping to lift the profile of license-based media into the mainstream reader's radar. He also has intense opinions about butter.
James Roberts will be attending the convention all weekend, chatting to readers, fans and fellow writers, signing and selling scripts where available. We look forward to welcoming him and all of you to TFNation 2020. Stay tuned for more updates!
