The History of Suffolk sings
I am having a lot of fun, getting to see all the different kinds of music played around suffolk, and hope to be doing it for some time. This film was made to show you just how good it is and just how much talent is out there. If anyone stands up and play two cords they can write a song I often stand up and play one. I don't keep count but I think I have put five in a song. most of the stuff in this video is played just for the joy of music. PLEASE pick up your instrument or just take a song to sing and find a pub. First time is hard but the second time, is easier, third time your a star, loved by everyone.
Diggy & Family - Woodbridge
Diggy, Alison Georgina Louis and Maureen having Lunch at the Duke of York Woodbridge - April 2011.
This Pub was recently re-named as The Duke of York to reflect its connection with the Children's Nursery Rhyme - The Grand old Duke of York. The 10,000 men were stationed at the Barracks in Woodbrideg and were marched up the hill to where the Pub now stands - then marched down again!!
FBB Archive: East Suffolk Morris Men Shottisham 1990
Another from Irvine Reid's VHS, posted as is. Tunes/dances are Captain Webb, Skirmish, Shepherds Hey. This vid illustrates that ESMM have always been strong on music as they remain today. Lots of large accordions in action which is par for the period.
