Yesterday afternoon our store was filled with very happy customers.
With a drum roll, store manager Pat O’Connor announced the store was having what is called a 'Market Moment', and that every customer in line at any of the checkouts would be receiving their entire purchase – whether it's a single item or a full grocery cart – for free.
Cheers erupted along with the confetti and it was as if a party had started. Laughter, gasps, hugs and a buzz of “OMG” moments filled the store – even a few happy tears were shed.
Market Moments is an across-Canada contest by Loblaws in which customers are given prizes. Our store was selected randomly to take part in the contest.

Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province. Prince Edward Island is also a popular destination for U.S. Americans. The European appearance of the landscape combined with the long sandy beaches in the north attracts a lot of tourists every year. The interior of the island is marked by agriculture and livestock. Besides grain, many potatoes, as well as vegetables, are cultivated.
In all the urban regions of Canada you find golf courses. Golf is far more popular than in Germany. The family excursion on Sundays often leads to a golf course where the smallest ones are already encouraged and taught.
Our destination on P.E.I. is Charlottetown, the cradle of Canada.
The Province House, today officially named Confederation Centre Art Gallery and Museum, was the location of the historic conference of 1864, which led to the founding of the Federation of British colonies, where the essential element was an own constitution.
Since the 60s, the Confederation Centre of the Arts is a cultural center, with a museum on the history of the colonies, art galleries and a library.
The Fanningbank building is the seat of the governor, who is the representative of the Queen with mainly representative tasks. The actual government functions are carried out by the Premier.
Next to the Fanningbank building is the Beaconsfield Historic House, often described as the most beautiful building of the town. It was built in 1877 by a shipowner who sold it after his bankruptcy to a photographer. Today it is open to the public.
