SASMEE Model Steam Train Park South Australia
SASMEE - South Australian Society of Model and Experimental Engineers - ride-on model steam trains at Millswood, South Australia - Model Train Park in South Australia, Speedboats and radio controlled boats (and even the odd submarine) can be seen in the lake.
Steam and the occasional diesel or electric locomotive run on two separate circuits, one for large gauge model trains and one smaller. Both of these provide free train rides, you just need to queue at the station .
SASMEE PARK, ADELAIDE
The South Australian Society of Model and Experimental Engineers (SASMEE) runs a variety of ride-on model steam trains at their SASMEE PARK site at Millswood, Adelaide, South Australia. I used to visit the site as a teenager, and had not been back to the park for over 40 years until I visited again with my niece, and her husband and two children in August 2010. Entirely volunteer run, the park is open to the public on the first Sunday and third Saturday of each month - weather permitting - from 2 to 4.30pm (*not* 5.30pm as stated at the end of the video).
With an entry price of just $5 for adults and $3 for children, SASMEE PARK is one of my Adelaide 'Hidden Gems'. Once inside the site, children and adults can ride the trains as often as they like for no additional cost.
SASMEE Park Train (Fast) Quest Go pro view
SASMEE - South Australian Society of Model and Experimental Engineers Millswood, South Australia - Model Train Park in South Australia, Speedboats and radio controlled boats can be seen in the lake. Steam and the occasional diesel or electric locomotive run on two separate circuits. In 2016 they don't allow filming on board the trains due to many members of the Public derailing the trains with there selfie taking. So with my Go-pro and permission by a friend and someone I met when I was there I filmed on the front of the two locos they drive. Hope you Enjoy it.
Music comes from both normal Thomas and then for the fast tune the Benny Theme is used as something different enjoy. With Music it has been change in pitch and they sound awesome.

NSWGR Class C38
The C38 class was a class of steam locomotives built for the New South Wales Government Railways in Australia.
Built between January 1943 and November 1949, the 30 locomotives in the class were designed to haul express trains. They were the only New South Wales locomotives to use the popular Pacific 4-6-2 wheel arrangement and were the last steam locomotives built for passenger train operation, all subsequent deliveries being specifically for freight haulage.
Train Enthusiast's Video Diary 1986-01-18
On Saturday 18/01/1986, we visited the live steam model railway circuit maintained by SASMEE (South Australian Society of Model and Experimental Engineers), at Millswood Crescent, Millswood, SA
Note the elevated tracks - these were lowered to ground level four years after this video was made.
This brief video clip captured snippets of model trains in action as well a some stationary steam engines.
South Australia's giant Tesla battery confounds critics | ABC News
It was mocked, described as a waste of money and compared to the Big Banana.
But South Australia's giant battery has turned out to be a success, stabilising the state's energy grid and confounding its critics. Along with power, the battery is also generating some much-needed good news for the company that built it, #Tesla.

Live steam 5 gauge NSW 50 Class Live Steam Locomotive
5 Gauge NSW 50 Class Live Steam locomotive 5108 running inside Stephenson valve gear was my test subject whilst learning to use the camera at Box Hill Victoria Miniature Locomotive Live steamers Club Melbourne Australia a true tribute to Model engineering
The first was delivered in May 1896 by Beyer, Peacock and Company with further orders over the next 20 years seeing the class number 280. Their second and third coupled wheel tyres were flangeless to reduce curve friction.
During the First World War, an additional 10 locomotives of this class were under construction at the North British Locomotive Company, but these were not delivered to Australia, being taken over by the British War Office for the Royal Engineers Railway Operating Division. After the war, they were offered back to the New South Wales Government Railways at higher than new prices and in a badly worn condition. They were declined and 8 locomotives were subsequently acquired by the Nord-Belge railway in Belgium and, following rebuilding, assigned to work coal trains along the Meuse Valley.

Engineering - Open Day 2011 - University of South Australia
We live in an evolving world and embedded within almost every innovation and development is an aspect of engineering. From turning on a light switch to supplying entire communities with power, communication infrastructure and water, the engineer has a role in serving the community by maintaining and improving the quality of life and standard of living. Engineering underpins a range of specialist careers including computer systems, complex mechanical and electrical systems project management, electrical and mechatronics, defence, mining, electronics and communications, networking and communications, optical electronics, the design of sustainable systems for energy production, the design and construction of green buildings, industrial development and water management.
In this presentation, you will hear about the project-based learning approach used to teach engineering at UniSA. We will also explain the broad range of subject areas and specialisations that are available to you in civil, electrical and information engineering and advanced manufacturing and mechanical engineering, as well as the exciting prospects for careers in engineering, both in Australia and overseas.

UniSA Pedal Prix Round 2 2012
UniSA is the lead sponsor for one of South Australia's most popular school activities, the Australian HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) Super Series. Known to many South Australians as the Pedal Prix, the annual series of events is designed to develop competitors' teamwork, technological and engineering skills, enterprise and fitness and health. The UniSA Australian HPV Super Series involves more than 500 teams and draws up to 35,000 spectators to the Murray Bridge 24-hour endurance race. The event encapsulates many of UniSA's core values around education, the development of sustainable communities, healthy lifestyles, communication and teamwork, and research and innovation.
