A HUGEEEEEE redemption fest with Mario Kart and Jurassic Park. So much floor space wasted on a wallet emptying business model. Not real fun or enjoyment in video games here, move along! I recommend Claremont Pier Amusements in Lowestoft for a better video game experience.

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol

On visiting Lowestoft for a short break, we had a walk along the North Beach. Lovely if you want a quiet stroll by the sea, then along the South Beach. Quite a bit more going on there. This video will hopefully give you some idea of the area. The children playing in the water fountain area were filmed with their parent's permission.

Lowestoft is an English town and civil parish in the county of Suffolk. The town, on the North Sea coast, is the most easterly settlement of the United Kingdom. It is 110 miles (177 km) north-east of London, 38 miles (61 km) north-east of Ipswich and 22 miles (35 km) south-east of Norwich. It lies on the edge of The Broads system and is the major settlement in the district of East Suffolk, with a population of 71,010 in 2011. Some of the earliest evidence of settlement in Britain has been found here. As a port town it developed out of the fishing industry and as a traditional seaside resort. It has wide, sandy beaches, two piers and other attractions. While its fisheries have declined, oil and gas exploitation in the southern North Sea in the 1960s added to its development, as a base for the industry alongside nearby Great Yarmouth. This role has declined, but the town has begun to develop as an Eastern England centre of the renewable energy industry.

Welcome to my channel, I hope you enjoy watching all the kayak fishing around the UK, mostly in the North Sea - in the sea and river, fishing for cod, bass, tope, dogfish, smoothound, thornback ray, whiting, wrasse and anything else I can target There's scuba diving off the North Norfolk Coast and Suffolk, wreck diving, reef diving, river diving, even Cenote Diving, in the Red Sea off Egypt, the Mediterranean off Malta and Gozo and in Mexico, Brazil, Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, Pembrokeshire in Wales, Swanage and Plymouth and of course the diving with sharks in South Africa. There's kayaking too, including surfing sailing and touring in the UK and abroad and a bit of snorkelling, Plenty of videos too of me fiddling with and driving my classic car, a 1973 Triumph Spitfire and other cars get a look in too. There's cooking, eating, travelling around various cities in Europe - Berlin in Germany, Naples and Rome in Italy, plus the Vatican; Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and elsewhere in Bulgaria; Lefkosia / Nicosia and much of Cyprus, Krakow in Poland, there's Malta too. Istanbul in Turkey just outside Europe too, and Egypt around Hurghada. Further afield there's a bit of South Africa and Latin America with the Mayan Riviera of Mexico and Rio de Janeiro, Paraty and Isla Grande in Brazil. There's even a bit of Northern Ireland and parts of England mixed in with the nonsense of East Anglia in a camper van with my daughters! Lowestoft South Beach Repairs
At the end of 2013 due to a dramatic increase in beach erosion, and severe weather, including the worse tidal surge in 60 years, the northern end of the beach by the Royal Plain and Royal Green, known as ‘Children’s Corner’ has been closed for safety reasons.
Work to repair the seawall will start in September 2014. The award winning Blue Flag beach to the south of the Claremont Pier is unaffected.
The fountains, shops, restaurants and pier businesses around Royal Plain, South Pier and the Esplanade are all open and operating as normal.

Video Game Arcade Tours - Claremont Pier Amusements (Lowestoft, UK)
One of our favourite arcades in Norfolk! They still have an original Dancing Stage Euromix 2 cabinet with working pads! Most arcade operators leave them into a dying death, but you could actually play hard songs without sticking or undersentive arrows and the sensors also work well. The owner also gave us free water bottles after watching us play, which was really cool. Nice guy!
Looking at the arcade, it's a good mix of video games and redemption. You can tell that the owner cares about video games and hasn't completely sold out on a redemption-based business model (Unlike every single arcade in Hemsby for example!). We will be back!
