Just myself and Sediment walking from Penzance to St. Ives, hopping on a bus to Marazion, walking back to Penzance then heading back to London. We drank a lot of tea along the way and averaged 2 pasties per day.

Repairs to South West Coast path and cycleway at Marazion
Work has started on repairs to the South West Coast Path and National Cycle Network Route 3 between Marazion and Penzance.
Over the next three to four weeks we will be re-instating the surface where it has been eroded and installing safety railings on part of the sea wall.
The path will be closed during working hours Monday to Friday but it will be open for use during evenings and weekends.

A Walk Through Penzance Railway Station, Penzance, Cornwall, United Kingdom
The station was opened by the West Cornwall Railway on 11 March 1852 as the terminus of its line from Redruth. Perhaps prompted by a serious fire in 1876 which destroyed the goods shed the wooden station was replaced by the current buildings in 1879 which were designed by the architect, William Lancaster Owen. The new platforms were used for the first time on 18 November 1879] However, the new station suffered from teething problems, as by 1880 it was reported that some settlement in the masonry and shrinkage of the iron in the roof had caused several sheets of the glazing to break.
Further alterations were made in 1937 and again in 1983 when new a ticket office and buffet were opened.
The blocked-up archway in the wall that retains the hillside behind the platforms was used by the railway as a coal store. Freight traffic, especially the busy fish trade, was handled in the former goods yard, where cars are now parked, adjacent to the bus station. An engine shed was also situated here before being moved to the opposite side of the line near the end of the retaining wall. It has since been replaced by the new Penzance TMD outside the station at Long Rock.
From 1996, South West Trains operated a weekly weekend service from London Waterloo as an extension of its service to Exeter St Davids. This ceased in December 2009.
In 2012/13 the station's roof was refurbished.
Penzance is both the southernmost station on the National Rail network and the westernmost station in England (although not Great Britain as some stations in Scotland are further west. The station, like all others in Cornwall, is operated by Great Western Railway.
Platforms 1, 2 and 3 are within the main train shed; Platform 4 on the south side is in the open air. A large stone at the end of this platform welcomes people to Penzance in both English and Cornish. This side of the station is built on the sea wall near the harbour; the other side is cut into the hillside.

PENZANCE Cornwall’s most westerly borough, Penzance is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, peppered with geographical, historical and cultural wonders. It is a place steeped in myths and legends and has been the source of inspiration for artists, writers and poets for hundreds of years. From the perilous cliff top walks to the ancient fishing villages, the sub-tropical vegetation and Bronze and Iron Age places of mystery it is a truly magical place. But uppermost of all Town and surrounding area’s attractions is its inseparable connection with the sea. After all its notoriety as a haven for smugglers and wreckers was the inspiration for Gilbert and Sullivan’s most famous production ‘The Pirates of Penzance’.
The South West Coast Path national trail runs through this picturesque, Penzance Harbour , has stunning panoramic views across St Michael's Mount, is the jewel in Cornwall's crown. This, the most famous of Cornwall's landmarks, an area of outstanding natural beauty,

Marazion is an ancient market town situated off the Mount’s Bay with stunning views to St. Michael’s Mount. St. Michael’s Mount, a small tidal island in Mount’s Bay is linked to Marazion by a granite causeway at mid – low tide and is managed by the National Trust. The castle and chapel have been home to the St. Aubyn family since approximately 1650. The earliest buildings date to the 12th century and the harbour is 15th century
When you take the short walk from the car park to Praa Sands you’ll be struck by how white the sand is, blinding so in the sunshine. Apparently, and here’s the science, the light sand is made from seashells that have been pulverised by wave action over millions of years. Located in the south west-facing bend between the Lizard and west Penwith, the mile-long sandy beach is backed with sheltering sand dunes and its easily accessible while further out the surf brigade take on some surprisingly big waves.
Absolutely breathtaking!! Cudden Point is located between Perranuthnoe and Prussia Cove on the south Cornish coast. It can clearly be seen from Penzance captured at Porthleven in Cornwall where 30 foot waves batter the coastline
Porthleven is a historic fishing port located to the west of the The Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Porthleven has the distinction of being the most southerly working port in mainland Britain - located on the edge of Mount's Bay, between the Lizard Peninsula and Marazion (St Michael's Mount). Porthleven's picture book location and stunning coastal scenery is designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty

We got off at the wrong stop on our way to Land's End, as did a lot of other people, but this gave us the opportunity to do part of the coastal walk.
An hour later we left Land's End to go back to Penzance on the open-top bus.

The picturesque Minack Theatre is an open-air theatre, constructed above a gully with a rocky granite outcrop jutting into the sea.
