Futaleufú River in Chile | 4K | Drone | Epic Landscape | Timelapse | Beautiful Lakes | Climbing
Futaleufú is a Chilean town and commune located in Northern Patagonia, specifically in Palena Province, Los Lagos Region. Futaleufu is a frontier town with a small but growing tourism industry based on adventure tourism—most specifically whitewater rafting—but also fishing, mountain biking, trekking, and canyoning. Located 7 miles from the Argentinian border, Futaleufu is most easily accessed from airports in Esquel and Bariloche, Argentina. The town is named after the crystal blue Futaleufú River, widely considered to be one of the best whitewater rafting rivers in the world. The name Futaleufu derives from a Mapudungun word meaning Big River.
The town has a population of about 2,000. The main income for the community is fly fishing and outdoor sports, particularly white water rafting, together with forestry and cattle farming. A gravel road links the town to Trevelin in Argentina and to the Carretera Austral. It is served by Futaleufú Airfield.
Following the eruption of Chaitén Volcano and the subsequent destruction of Chaitén, Futaleufú has been the administrative capital of Palena Province since March 2009.
The Futaleufú River is commonly rated by specialized media as one of the best rivers in the world for kayaking and rafting. The river flows in from Argentina, through the town, and empties into the fjord-shaped Yelcho Lake. Day trips and multi-day trips are available on the Futa while several of its tributaries, such as the Espolón River and the Azul (Blue) River, can be rafted, canoed, or navigated by boat.
Two lakes, Lake Lonconao and Lake Espolón, offer opportunities for paddling and fly fishing close to the town of Futaleufú. Fly fishing is also possible on the Futaleufú River, the Yelcho River (the largest river in the Futaleufú Valley) and Espolon River, which is the largest tributary of the Futaleufú and contains brown trout and rainbow trout, as well as salmon in April and May.
Other nearby attractions include the Futaleufú National Reserve, known for its population of Huemul (South Andean deer), and Pumalín Park, Chile's largest private nature reserve. Pumalín is a public-access park, with an extensive infrastructure of trails, campgrounds, and visitor centres.
Canyoning and rappelling is also possible in the Futaleufú valley, with its numerous ravines and waterfalls, as well as horse riding and mountain biking.

Filmed on one of the largest rivers in Argentine Patagonia, the Limay, near the town of Bariloche, November 2013. My good friend and world-class caster Tim Rajeff, of Rajeff Sports, and our Argentinian guide Óscar Dono, of Fly Fishing Patagonia, fished for rainbow trout and brown trout in some of South America's most incredible crystal clear waters. Fortunately, we caught a day with low winds. The usual Patagonian winds can sometimes add a complicated rush: flying my copter above a river flowing at 14,000 CFS is ten times more difficult with wind. We got a lucky break! Argentina truly has some of the most spectacular trout fishing in the world. An awesome angler fishing in an awesome environment always yields a fun and entertaining experience, even for the cameraman! Thanks to Tim Rajeff and to the expertise of guide Óscar Dono, who got us to some of the most trout-filled stretches of water. Also thanks to Patagonia, a T-Motion featured sponsor. Check out the folks at Fly Fishing Patagonia for more info on fishing the Patagonia region of Argentina. Filmed November 2013 - Camera and Edit by Todd Moen.

HARRY COOPER: THE 4TH REICH & AUTHOR OF HITLER IN ARGENTINA STILL ALIVE AFTER WWII
I will be interviewing Harry Cooper on Friday December 1st at 1pm PT.
Harry Cooper served for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and 12 years Coast Guard (Aux.) and was a Flotilla Commander.
He has written 21 books and we talk about his bestselling book HITLER IN ARGENTINA with documented evidence that Hitler was still alive long after WWII.
Short bio written by Harry Cooper:
I am the world's foremost expert on the history of the German U-Boats and now also on the escape of Adolf Hitler. Unlike other researcher/writers who read a few documents and other people's books to produce their own book, which are almost always just their theories without proof or substance - I read the documents then I go where the history was made. I go to Germany and Austria on average two times each year since 1988 and have been to South America nine times in the past eight years where I take photos of these historic places and interview people who were there and give me first-hand information. I have just been contacted by a major television production company in Buenos Aires who will fly me down there to do a documentary on the tragic loss of the submarine ARA SAN JUAN and I have another fact-finding expedition scheduled in March 2018 to Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Paraguay. We are peeling back the layers like onion skin - peel back one layer and another is there with questions waiting to be answered.
Our biggest advantage lies in the fact that we have several thousand Members in 77 countries and many are active or retired Intel people. They are my eyes and ears in various locations to lay the groundwork and take me to the people who have the first-hand history.
For more info go to then to PREVIOUS TOURS. There are thousands of photos and explanations of this research.

Ted Turner hospitalized in Argentina
TED TURNER HOSPITALIZED IN ARGENTINE CAPITAL
American media mogul Ted Turner has been hospitalized for an undisclosed ailment in Argentina's capital.
Turner Enterprises spokesman Phillip Evans in Atlanta said the CNN founder was hospitalized in South America and that no further details will be provided.
CNN's news desk, however, tweeted that Turner was under observation Friday (7 MARCH 2014) at a hospital in Buenos Aires.
A security guard at the Instituto Argentino de Diagnostico y Tratamiento confirmed to The Associated Press that Turner was hospitalized there. Speaking on condition of anonymity because of hospital policy, he said the institute's director told him that Turner's companions had asked to release no information about his condition.
The 75-year-old billionaire was first treated earlier Friday at the San Carlos Sanatorium in Bariloche, near his ranch in Argentina's Patagonia region. A spokeswoman there who gave her name only as Marina told the AP that Turner left that clinic after about four hours.
Turner owns 14 ranches in the United States and three in Argentina, including La Primavera, a 11,000-acre ranch along the Traful river in Argentina's Nahuel Huapi National Park. The ranch hosts private expeditions and boasts some of the world's best trout fishing and hunting. Wild animals include deer, boar, quail, mountain lions and birds. Some of his neighbors complained that they have been prevented them from accessing the river as it runs through his property, a claim his local management denied.

SUMMARY
=======
Patagonia (Spanish pronunciation: [pataˈɣonja]) is a sparsely populated region at the southern end of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes mountains and the deserts, pampas and grasslands to the east. Patagonia is one of the few regions with coasts on three oceans, with the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Southern Ocean to the south.
The Colorado and Barrancas rivers, which run from the Andes to the Atlantic, are commonly considered the northern limit of Argentine Patagonia. The archipelago of Tierra del Fuego is sometimes included as part of Patagonia. Most geographers and historians locate the northern limit of Chilean Patagonia at Huincul Fault, in Araucanía Region.

Nahuel Huapi National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi) is the oldest national park in Argentina, established in 1934. It surrounds Nahuel Huapi Lake in the foothills of the Patagonian Andes. The largest of the national parks in the region, it has an area of 7,050 km2 (2,720 sq mi), or nearly 2 million acres. Its landscapes represent the north Patagonian Andean Zone consisting of three types, namely, the Altoandino (with perpetual snow above an altitude of 1,600 metres (5,200 ft)), the Andino-Patagónico (in the lower reaches of the hills) and the Patagonian steppe. It also represents small parts of the Valdivian Rainforest.
The park and the reserve lie at an altitude of 720–3,574 metres (2,362–11,726 ft), and are designated under IUCN management categories II (National Park) and IV (Management Reserve). The park is completely protected while the reserve is partially protected. The national park is dominated by the high mountain chain of the Andes, many lakes, rapid rivers, waterfalls, snow-clad peaks, glaciers and extensive forests. It is bordered by Chile on its western side.
