On our family trip to Africa, we arrived in the city of Kassana in Botswana. We rented a private motorboat and rode the chobe river for several hours. During the cruise we saw amazing, funny and even scary shows. We opened the cruise on a tour near a crocodile, so close we could barely touch it. Were amazed by the giant reptile that was considered one of the dangerous animals. Later we met in an amazing Buffalo band that came to the pasture land to eat its breakfast. The boat continued to travel and the children were simply in ecstasy from the stunning views and the closeness to the wild animals.
Later on we had a really scary meeting with a hippopotamus, we got on the boat just off the river where the hippos were eating their breakfast, one of the hippos decided that it was just the right time to enter the river! When we saw that the hippopotamus was approaching us the guide turned on the boat and began to walk away, But at this very moment when the hippo really approached us, running and swimming, our boat stopped working! At this moment we were all really stressed and the children were screaming a little bit scared, but do not worry about a minute later the guide managed to run the boat and we managed to escape this amazing animal. Hippopotamus is a very dangerous animal and there are many accidents of attacking hippos in humans in Africa and elsewhere in the world where hippos live. After this terrifying experience we continued on a calm cruise in the river, and then we met in a large elephants family who decided that this was a really good time to cross the chobe river. We saw the elephants crossing the river swimming, the elephants playing with one another and climbing up the other as they crossed the river, the children asked the guide: How can the elephants not drown, they weigh between 4 and 6 tons each? The guide explained to us that the belly of the elephants actually contains a lot of air so they can swim because the air in their stomach serves as a float on the water. Later on the cruise we saw many rare birds that can be seen only in the chobe river in Kasana Botswana, we saw many more amazing animals and enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend if you come to Kasana in Botswana to take a private cruise with a private guide, it's not cost much more then a public cruise, but it's worth a lot more, it's just an amazing experience not to be missed if you arrive in Kasana Botswana.
In Swahili, the word safari means journey and is mainly aimed at hunting and exploring. Nowadays, however, the word safari is generally associated with adventure and the discovery of habitats and wildlife of the African land. And many people have experienced how truly remarkable an experience an African Safari can be in recent years.
An African safari can be undertaken in various ways, by driving throughout the African wildland or through fly-in safaris.
There are four basic types of safari through Africa:
-permanent tented safaris
-mobile safaris
-lodge safaris
-theme-based safaris, such as canoing, elephant-back, horseback or honeymoon safaris
An African safari through Southern and Eastern Africa usually takes between 10 and twenty days.
There are a few things you should do to make sure your African safari is not only exciting, but also safe. While you are planning an African safari tour, it is highly recommended to choose a well-trained an experienced safari guide, or a local tour operator who is very familiar with local conditions and etiquette. You should also make sure all the essential things for the safari are included in the package, such as accommodation, meals, ground transportation, excursion, guide or driver service and transfers.
Some of the most popular African safari destinations are Okavango Delta, Cape Town and Winelands, Kruger Park and Sabi-Sands, Chobe Park, Namib Desert, Victoria Falls, Etosha Park, Mount Kenya, Bazaruto Archipelago, Ngorongoro Crate, Forest Gorilla Treks and Kilimanjaro Mountains. African weather conditions are generally good throughout the whole year, but autumn and winter are the best seasons for safaris.
You can undertake an African safari in various ways, such as on horseback or on the back of an elephant; walking, flying, ballooning or driving through the African land. Either way you choose to do it, you will get a truly memorable experience. Once again though, it is essential to choose a tour operator with a lot of experience, strong knowledge of the local language and great contacts in Africa.

SUMMARY
=======
South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa (RSA), is the southernmost country in Africa. It is bounded to the south by 2,798 kilometres (1,739 mi) of coastline of Southern Africa stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans; to the north by the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe; and to the east and northeast by Mozambique and Swaziland (Eswatini); and it surrounds the enclaved country of Lesotho. South Africa is the largest country in Southern Africa and the 25th-largest country in the world by land area and, with over 57 million people, is the world's 24th-most populous nation. It is the southernmost country on the mainland of the Old World or the Eastern Hemisphere. About 80 percent of South Africans are of Sub-Saharan African ancestry, divided among a variety of ethnic groups speaking different African languages, nine of which have official status. The remaining population consists of Africa's largest communities of European (White), Asian (Indian), and multiracial (Coloured) ancestry.
South Africa is a multiethnic society encompassing a wide variety of cultures, languages, and religions. Its pluralistic makeup is reflected in the constitution's recognition of 11 official languages, which is the fourth highest number in the world. Two of these languages are of European origin: Afrikaans developed from Dutch and serves as the first language of most coloured and white South Africans; English reflects the legacy of British colonialism, and is commonly used in public and commercial life, though it is fourth-ranked as a spoken first language. The country is one of the few in Africa never to have had a coup d'état, and regular elections have been held for almost a century. However, the vast majority of black South Africans were not enfranchised until 1994. During the 20th century, the black majority sought to recover its rights from the dominant white minority, with this struggle playing a large role in the country's recent history and politics. The National Party imposed apartheid in 1948, institutionalising previous racial segregation. After a long and sometimes violent struggle by the African National Congress (ANC) and other anti-apartheid activists both inside and outside the country, the repeal of discriminatory laws began in 1990.
Since 1994, all ethnic and linguistic groups have held political representation in the country's liberal democracy, which comprises a parliamentary republic and nine provinces. South Africa is often referred to as the rainbow nation to describe the country's multicultural diversity, especially in the wake of apartheid. The World Bank classifies South Africa as an upper-middle-income economy, and a newly industrialised country. Its economy is the second-largest in Africa, and the 34th-largest in the world. In terms of purchasing power parity, South Africa has the seventh-highest per capita income in Africa. However, poverty and inequality remain widespread, with about a quarter of the population unemployed and living on less than US$1.25 a day. Nevertheless, South Africa has been identified as a middle power in international affairs, and maintains significant regional influence.
