Parade c1967, Lytham St.Annes Police, Armed Forces, Scouts, Schools
Amateur film footage of a Civic Sunday or St.George's Day Parade from Clifton Street to St.Cuthbert's Church, Lytham. I think J M Tavernor is the Mayor which would date the film to between May 1967 & May 1968. The parade includes an army band and representitives from the Police, Fire Service, Local Councillors, RAF Cadets? Boys Brigade, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Queen Mary School & King Edward VIII School.

Lytham to Blackpool Trams and Views 1903 (v2)
This film is part of a series of six from the Mitchell and Kenyon collection from 1903 originally uploaded to Youtube by Gordon Birt. The first reel of this film was taken on Lytham Green opposite the Clifton Hotel on West Beach. The remaining reels follow parts of the Tram journey as it was from Market Square in Lytham to the junction of Station Road and Lytham Road in South Shore Blackpool. The order of the reels in this film has been changed from Gordon's original compilation to reflect the actual tram route.
Please take a few moments at full screen and enjoy this fascinating set of clips from over a 115 years ago. You might consider changing the speed of the clip to 1.25 in the settings following a suggestion that this more replicates the correct running speed of the film.
The first reel begins with the camera opposite the Clifton Hotel in Lytham before sweeping across Lytham Green with views of Lytham Windmill and the former Lytham Pier. The actual Tram journey commences in Market Square with passengers alighting the tram and the camera also picks out views of the County Pub and 'Old Tom' the tree which used to sit in the middle of Hastings Place. The camera now films the route as the tram slowly begins moving off along Church Road with the camera positioned on the upper deck. Views then follow of Lowther Gardens and St Cuthberts Church before the tram proceeds down Cambridge Road. With Blackpool Road bridge in the background you can also see a steam loco passing underneath. Various parts of an unbuilt Clifton Drive and St Annes Square are captured before heading along Clifton Drive north and then turning down Squires Gate Lane. The railway can be seen as it crosses Squires Gate Bridge together with trams stored by the railways sidings. Finally travelling down Lytham Road the tram crosses Lytham Road bridge with a rare sight of the original South Shore station and platforms which can be seen underneath on the right before this journey finally comes to an end at Station Road.

Grandsire Doubles at Garstang (Churchtown), Lancs
A very decent touch of Grandsire rung on this Lancashire six in a pretty and historic church, known locally as The Cathedral of the Fylde.
The bells were all cast by Thomas II Mears of Whitechapel in 1828, and are hung in a wooden frame. The bells were last overhauled by Gillett & Johnston in 1930. They handle reasonably and sound very pleasant, although much nicer outside! The long draught and springy ropes make the front bells a bit flighty. The vacuum cleaner overpowered the bells somewhat also!
The eagle-eyed amongst you will spot at least two other YouTubers ringing in this touch, in Rob Lane and Doug Davis! :-)

Cartmel Priory
A beautiful old piory in Cartmel, the lake District. Rebuilt over the passage of time the original priory dated back to the 13th century. Note the strange shaped tower which is the only one of its kind in Britain.

Welcome to my channel
This channel is mainly dedicated to videos of my hometown, Blackpool, Lancashire, England.
Blackpool is a beautiful seaside town on the North West coast of England.
We have many cool attractions here including our world famous Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, three piers and a lovely sandy beach..
Blackpool is a relatively poor town that gets (unfairly in my opinion), a lot of bad press..
The aim of my channel is to show Blackpool in a better light..
No town or city is perfect so it's best to appreciate the good parts wherever you live :)
Also videos of areas surrounding Blackpool. going north we have Bispham, Cleveleys, maybe as far as Fleetwood and Knott End. In the other direction, going south we will be visiting St Annes and Lytham.

Couldn't have choreographed this better. The bells you can hear are from the nearby St. John's Church

post-blue monday christening - 14 alex dr st annes 1988 jade
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
part 3 of a 3 part - taken at 14 alex drive in st annes, this is the jades post christening party - captured a time which is very memorable in the minds of those that attended - early video footage - pretty shaky - families complete - life seemed simple.. play on small screen - age and technology doesnt stand up to today...no apologies, thats all we had back then..
Thanks to Chris Webb for having the foresight to video all this and giving us the opportunity to rewatch it all these years later.
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
Biddenden Bellringing - Grandsire Doubles
Ringing Grandsire Doubles at Biddenden Parish Church of All Saints, Kent, on the back six bells (Tenor 23cwt approx). This was the start of an unsuccessful Quarter Peal attempt, and this footage is of the first two extents. Brian (Deputy Captain) is shown here ringing the Tenor to his first Quarter Peal attempt.
Biddenden is famous for its Biddenden Maids, and Biddenden Cider (as well as the sonorous octave in the tower, of which this is the heavy 6)
