Saint David's Day - Dydd Gŵyl Dewi
Saint David's Day (Welsh: Dydd Gŵyl Dewi, is the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, and falls on 1 March, the date of Saint David's death in 589 AD. The feast has been regularly celebrated since the canonisation of David in the 12th century (by Pope Callistus II), though it is not a national holiday in the UK.
Traditional festivities include wearing daffodils and leeks, recognised symbols of Wales and Saint David respectively, eating traditional Welsh food including cawl and Welsh rarebit, and women wearing traditional Welsh dress. An increasing number of cities and towns across Wales including Cardiff, Swansea and Aberystwyth also put on parades throughout the day.

Christmas Shopping in Cardiff Centre with Imo and Izzy ????
Imo and Izzy are getting excited about Christmas. They head off to Cardiff City Centre for a bit of last minute Christmas shopping. They have a look at the Christmas market, the decorations and particularly all the Doctor Who stuff in the Television and Movie Store in St David's Shopping Centre.
Imo points out the location of a defibrillator right next to the Americandy Store in Queens Arcade and Izzy teaches you a handy trick/life hack for distinguishing between bactrian and dromedary camels.

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We love getting out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a home schooling/home educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Our resourcefulness is tested on a daily basis but we'd love to share our little triumphs and discoveries with you as we go along.
I will always write closed captions in UK English for my vlogs, not only to make them more accessible in general but also to create a useful resource for advanced learners of the English language who may enjoy regular bursts of pseudo-immersion in English in a narrative context with the additional benefit of corresponding on-screen text.
These videos will not generally feature background music making them extra suitable for people who aren't keen on pop music! x

St. David's Day.
1st March is St. David's Day. He brought Christianity to Wales in the 6th Century AD. St David (Dewi Sant) is the Patron Saint of Wales and 1st March is the Welsh National Day. This is an edited version of 'Songs of Praise' 24/02/2013. The final song is sung by Rhys Meirion in Welsh, accompanied by a traditional Welsh Harp. The Welsh name for the city of St. David's is Tyddewi.
