Bristol in the southwest of England known for its maritime history. The city was a starting place for early voyages of exploration to the New World.
On this tour we explore nicely walkable centre. We start at the St James' Priory which is near the Bristol Coach Station. Quickly we go to the shopping area Broadmead where we check several shopping streets and also The Bearpit city park.
We head south to the Castle Park and cross the Castle bridge and get back to the old city. There it's a bit quieter this afternoon as most of the action happens at the former city-centre port, the Harbourside. The old harbour's warehouses now contain restaurants, shops.
The riverside stroll continues for a while. We follow the feeder canal and the River Avon. It's a relaxing weekend atmosphere with people and families walking around. We enjoy the path for a little while longer, pass the Brunel's SS Great Britain and finish our tour near the Bristol Marina and rowing club.
Note: I missed catching Banksy's The Girl With Pearl Earring on video on a wall near the marina though took a photo after when walking back. It's coming sometime to the website. A second tour walking back from Millenium square will be on the channel at some point

there is a legend that has been passed around dudley for years that the st james priory is haunted by a black friar that walks the ground of the now ruined priory on priory park, but no one has come up with any evidence to really back this legend up. so i have faked a video of what he may look like if ever seen.

With bells, a clock and a winding medieval spiral staircase to experience, we thought we'd film the descent on a smartphone. Curry Rivel, Somerset, and St Andrew's Church

A number of generations of the Weaver family lived in Curry Rivel in Somerset. The headstone surmounted by a cross in the churchyard is that of my 4 x great-grandparents, Robert Weaver and his wife, Sarah, nee Street, and one of their sons.
My great-grandfather, Henry James Weaver, is remembered on the War Memorial in the village and also inside St Andrew's Church. He was accidentally killed in WW1, nine months after he'd stood at the altar inside the same church to marry his bride, Florence Smale.
Other family surnames associated with Curry Rivel include Twogood and Fidoe.

SS Philip and Jacob Church, (grid reference ST594730) commonly referred to as Pip 'n' Jay, is a parish church in central Bristol, England. Its full name since 1934 is St Philip and St Jacob with Emmanuel the Unity, although reference to the original church of St Philip exists in records dating from 1174. Historically the 'Mother church of East Bristol', it serves the area known as The Dings.
St Philip and St Jacob refers to itself as the city's 'oldest place of Christian worship'. The church began as a small priory around AD 900. It was later rebuilt by Robert, 1st Earl of Gloucester, who also built the nearby priory of St James'. All that remains of the original church is the font, although parts the chancel and tower date from at least the 13th Century. The building was extended during the Middle Ages to include the present-day nave, the pillars of which are actually Victorian additions, possibly by William Armstrong.[1]
The tower contains eight bells dating from 1738 and made by William Bilbie of the Bilbie family.[2]

Retail Parks in the United States of America:
In 1986, 280 Metro Center, an open-air, strip shopping complex composed of discount and warehouse retailers, opened in Colma, California in the United States; it is credited with being the first ever power center.[3] Northern Lights Shopping Center in Economy, Pennsylvania, which opened in 1962, could be considered an earlier example of a power center based on square footage (it had 609,405 square feet (57,000 m2) of leaseable space until the demolition of the former J. C. Penney building in 2006) and having multiple anchors (it had four until the aforementioned demolition, with two of the remaining three anchors currently being vacant as of 2014), though it has largely become more of a traditional community-style strip mall since the early 2000s and is generally considered a dead mall due to its high vacancy rate.[4]

Some new power center developments have attempted to re-create the atmosphere of an old-town Main Street, with varying levels of success.
Retail Parks in the United Kingdom:
In the United Kingdom, the retail park is a similar concept to the North American power center. They are found on the fringes of most large towns and cities in highly accessible locations and are aimed at households owning a car. They offer an alternative to busy city centres. Such developments have been encouraged by cheaper, more affordable land on the outskirts of towns and cities, and with loose planning controls in a number of Enterprise Zones, making planning and development very easy.[7] In recent years, in many areas across the UK, planning controls have been tightened to preserve the countryside. This has made it more difficult for such developments to proceed, resulting in many smaller, more compact retail parks, sometimes only consisting of about three or four stores being built on former brownfield sites. There are also environmental disadvantages to large retail parks on the rural fringe, including the increased traffic and pollution that occurs during access.
Typically retail parks host a range of chain stores, including furniture, clothes or footwear superstores, electrical stores, carpet and others - and the anchor tenant is usually a supermarket. Owing to their out-of-town sites, abundance of free parking and proximity to major roads, retail parks are often easier to reach than central shopping areas, and as a result town centres are less attractive to retailers.[8]....
