Some half muffled Grandsire Caters at St Mary Le Tower, Ipswich on a practice night. These are a superb back 10 and sound fantastic with muffles on. The 12 sound even better but I didn't get any recordings of them unfortunately but still later on we had some excellent Stedman Cinques and some reasonable Yorkshire Surprise Maximus. Tenor 34cwt - 3qr - 6lb.

Arrived in Ipswich just in time to capture this small piece towards the end of the regular weekly practice night, recorded last summer on a brief mid-week tour (not ringing-related) of East Anglia. Very nice sounding set of bells and ringing. Details of the bells can be found here:

Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk, England, located on the estuary of the River Orwell, about 60 miles north east of London. Ipswich has been continuously occupied since the Saxon period, and its port has been one of England's most important for the whole of its history.

Ipswich's sole professional association football club is Ipswich Town, which was established in 1878 and, as of 2015, plays in the second-tier Football League Championship at the 30,300-capacity Portman Road stadium.

Some rounds & call changes, and a lot of larking about, on the Piglet Open Day (30/12/13) during a break from quarter peal attempts. Named after a cross between the house name (Piglet in the Wilde,) and St Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich. The ropes have recently been replaced, and subsequently re-replaced with thicker sallies and longer tail ends; the ropes seen in the last photograph have been bought by KDowner94 of YouTube fame!! The bells are amongst the most pealed in the world with over 700 since their installation, and the belfry, shed, and house (regularly used for handbell ringing) are choc-a-block with Piglet memorabilia!
