A winter walk down the Prestatyn - Dyserth branch line

A group of shots down this disused line from December 2012, closed in 1973 built to serve quarries but once having a passenger service as well.
The old railway station has recently been incorporated into part of a new shopping centre. As you can see on the video the Marks and Spencer's store dwarfs it. Leaving the newer (1870's) station from a now very overgrown bay platform it passes the edge of the town centre, through St Melyd Golf Course into Meliden which still has it's old goods shed, and onto Talargoch Quarry sidings, Allt y Craig quarries, and near to the site of Dyserth castle, ending at the small terminus which still has the old crane. A bid to turn the line into a preserved railway failed, however the trackbed has been turned into an attractive 3 mile walkway with views across Prestatyn and along the coast.
