Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, New Zealand
Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, New Zealand
After visiting New Zealand Parliament house, we headed towards the Wellington cathedral of St. Paul. The Sunday service had just finished so we were allowed to go inside and admire the church's interior designs. The people were very friendly and allowed us to film and also provided some information.
The information below is from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Wellington Cathedral of St Paul is the cathedral church of the Anglican Diocese of Wellington, New Zealand and the seat of its bishop of Wellington.
Construction began in 1955, and was completed in 1998. It was constructed in reinforced concrete due to the effects of the 1931 Napier earthquake, making other choices impractical. It began functioning as a cathedral in 1964.
The wooden Lady Chapel is on the north side of the cathedral. The Lady Chapel was moved to Wellington Cathedral from its original site in Paraparaumu in 1990.

Wellington & Wairarapa Riders Against Teenage Suicide Rally 2017
A collage of pictures captured over the weekend of the Wellington & Wairarapa Riders Against Teenage Suicide Rally 2017. We would like to acknowledge all our loved ones gone before their time to the Taniwha of Suicide and the strength of those still fighting the battle.
A huge Thank you to all of those who made the journey to Wainuiomata over the weekend of the 8th - 10th September 2017. We know the weather was atrocious in parts but your presence over the weekend shines the light to others in letting them know they neither ride or walk alone; our approach raises the volume specifically in regards to our Tamariki and Youth/Rangatahi – our future generations and leaders of tomorrow. Our volume lets’ all know we are here and willing to do what it takes to reduce the effects and impacts Suicide has on us all collectively.

Auckland Cathedral.mpg
A visit to Holy Trinity Cathedral Auckland, New Zealand, during Epiphany 2009. The older more traditional sanctuary, contrasts with the vivid colour and glass of the nave. The west window of the risen, polynesian Christ is particularly striking. Advent wreath and nativity model are reminders of the Christmas season. Paintings, kneelers and embroidered pictures feature, there is a display of Bibles in different languages and a rare, misprinted vinegar Bible. Nearby St.Mary's Church served as the cathedral during building and was subsequently moved across the road!

2 short films 'Letting in the Light' & 'Keeping the Faith' (about Greek Orthodox New Zealand)
Adding the Pantocrator iconography to the dome of Wellington’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral is a significant milestone in the history of this beautiful church.
To share the story of how this remarkable work was created, and to celebrate the history of the Greek Orthodox faith in New Zealand, Stellar Studios proudly presents two short films:
Letting in the Light - follows Sister Thekla, an iconographer who travelled to Wellington from the Congo in Africa to paint the Pantocrator on the dome of the Evangelismos church.
Keeping the Faith - takes you on a nationwide tour, visiting the local Greek Orthodox Churches throughout New Zealand and meeting the people behind them.
The two films will be screened together at a local Wellington theatre, dates to be released soon.
