My Video Making Gear:
Starý most (English: Old Bridge) is a bridge over the river Danube in Bratislava, Slovakia. The 460 meter long bridge included a wooden pathway for pedestrians, a two-lane road and railway track, connecting the historic old city of Bratislava with the newer region Petržalka. The bridge was closed for cars in 2009 and for buses on 14 May 2010. On 2 December 2013 it was also closed for pedestrian and bicycle traffic because deconstruction of the bridge began the last week of November. At the time of its closure it was the oldest still-standing bridge in Bratislava.
As of December 2015, the bridge was replaced by a new one for pedestrians, cyclists and trams, as part of new tram track to Petržalka.

10 Things to do in Bratislava, Slovakia Travel Guide Video Transcript:
We're visiting Bratislava, Slovakia and in this video we're going to show you guys 10 things to do in Bratislava. Let's get started.
Our first stop was Devin Castle, which is located in Devin, a borough of Bratislava. This is the one attraction we visited that was a little further from the Old Town - a 30-minute bus ride.
Devin Castle is a ruined castle that sits on Slovak territory at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers.
We ate at a restaurant called “Modra Hviezda” which is located at the base of Bratislava Castle and feels like a cave.
Bratislava Castle was Built in the 9th century and modified over the centuries many times over, this 4-towered castle sits perched on a hill overlooking the Danube River.
You get nice views over the Old Town, plus you have the Slovak National Museum & the Baroque Gardens on the north side of the palace.
The following day, we set out to explore the Old Town and stopping cafe for a decadent breakfast.
Bratislava’s Old Town is compact & easy to explore on foot and cover most of the sights in one day. We went on our own do-it-yourself tour finding all sorts of interesting statues & landmarks.
The Blue Church is located on Bezručova Street, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Old Town designed in the art nouveau style.
Locals in Bratislava like to say that the best view of their city is from the UFO Bridge because you can’t see the UFO bridge. You get amazing views of Bratislava during sunset.
And while you’re down by the Danube, you can either enjoy a stroll along the river, or go on a sightseeing cruise.
Prašná bašta is another cozy restaurant located at basement level and we had another wonderful meal.
For sports fans be sure to check out a HC Slovan Bratislava ice hockey game. They play in the KHL and the level of hockey and entertainment value is fantastic.
And that’s a wrap for our trip to Bratislava. While we can see the appeal of doing this as a day trip from Vienna, we loved having the extra time to really enjoy the city, try out some great restaurants, and make it to some of the further attractions like Devin Castle. If you have a few days to spare, this is a great little capital to visit.
Any other things to do in Bratislava that we may have missed, feel free to share your suggestions with travellers in the comments below.
This is part of our Travel in Slovakia video series showcasing Slovak food (Slovakian food), Slovak culture (Slovakian culture) and Slovak cuisine (Slovakian cuisine).

Bratislava - Starý most (1)
Bratislava is one of the youngest capitals in Europe and few people know that during the time it was called Pressburg or Pozsony it was one of the most important cities in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was a mixing pot of various nations and nationalities who lived together in peace and harmony. There is a saying that a true 'Pressburgian' speaks four languages: Slovak, German, Hungarian and Mishmash. Even as recently as the 1980s you might hear how older Pressburgians in the street would say two words in German, two in Hungarian and two in Slovak all in the space of one sentence. That is what we mean by mishmash.
Bratislava's location on the banks of the River Danube and at the crossroads of ancient trading routes right at the heart of Europe predestined it to become a meeting point of various cultures. It was the home of the Celts, the Romans, and the Slavs ... The reign of Maria Theresa is regarded as a golden era in the city's history. She was crowned Queen of Hungary in St. Martin's cathedral in Pressburg, just like the 10 other kings and 8 royal partners over the course of 300 years when Pressburg was in fact the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary.
The rich mix of cultures and nations not only left its mark in the language spoken here, but also in the customs, cuisine and lifestyle. Just like the Viennese, the people of Bratislava also enjoy promenading through the streets of the city centre, taking time out for a coffee in any of the many cafes. This part of the city is referred to as the Korzo and combines elegance with charm. Visitors say that the city has a relaxed Mediterranean type atmosphere. Bratislava is a seaside city without the sea.
Nowadays Bratislava is experiencing a boom once more. Buildings are popping up, deals being made, people studying, and everything is on the move. Experts regard it as one of the most dynamically developing and most prospective regions in Europe. It welcomes tourists, business people, and investors, who are attracted to this blooming city and its lively atmosphere. There are many cities in Europe that can boast their own special unique charm, and Bratislava is definitely one of them.

Starý most,diel I. - Bratislava 2014
Starý most (pôvodne: Most Františka Jozefa, Franz-Josef-Brücke, Ferencz József-híd, po prvej svetovej vojne Štefánikov most, po druhej svetovej vojne Most Červenej armády) bol most cez Dunaj v Bratislave.
Nový most bude slúžiť električkovej, cyklistickej a pešej doprave približne od jesene 2015.
