Texarkana & Post Office - VIDEO TOUR (Ark-La-Tex, Texas, Arkansas)
It was pretty cool to see a building cover two different states lol... Interesting stop!
Address:
500 N State Line Ave Ste 101, Texarkana, AR 71854
The border between Texas and Arkansas runs along the yellow center line of State Line Avenue in Texarkana. For reasons of civic unity (and since Texarkana is the Incredible Two-Headed Transplant of town names), the city's Federal Building/Courthouse/Post Office was built in the middle of this street, supposedly the only building in the U.S. that straddles a state line (We know of another building that straddles the U.S. border). State Line Avenue turns into a traffic circle to avoid this odd obstacle.
Building straddling the state line.
The interior of the building is all-business, with security bag screening and no souvenir gift shop. But outside is another matter. To cater to touring transients such as us, Texarkana built a photo op on the south side of the building, and thoughtfully painted a dashed line up the sidewalk that you can straddle. There's a You Are Here hitching post with longitude and latitude readings, and a painted sign with simple map visuals of the two states side-by-side. A flag pole further bisects any properly angled photo.
Prove to the folks back home that you really did stand with one foot in Texas, and the other in Arkansas! Is there any other reason to stop in Texarkana? No.
We were impressed by how sparse traffic was on the weekday afternoon that we visited. Parking was easy, and, although this is a main drag, we were able to stand in the middle of the street and snap away with only minor fear of cars disturbing us. One gets the impression that it has always been this sleepy here, which makes this a fine state-straddling photo alternative to the chaos at Four Corners.
Exercise caution, though... and if hit by a vehicle, try to land in the same jurisdiction where you parked.
Texarkana is a city in Bowie County, Texas, United States, located in the Ark-La-Tex region. Located approximately 180 miles (290 km) from Dallas, Texarkana is a twin city with neighboring Texarkana, Arkansas. The population of the Texas city was 37,679 at the 2016 census estimate. The city and its Arkansas counterpart form the core of the Texarkana Metropolitan Statistical Area, encompassing all of Bowie County, Texas, and Miller County, Arkansas. The two cities had a combined population of 67,592 at the 2017 census, and the metropolitan area had a total population of 150,098.

Springdale, Arkansas
Springdale is the fourth-largest city in Arkansas, and is located in both Washington and Benton counties in Northwest Arkansas. Located on the Springfield Plateau deep in the Ozark Mountains, Springdale has long been an important industrial city for the region. In addition to several trucking companies, the city is home to the world headquarters of Tyson Foods, the world's largest meat producing company. Originally named Shiloh, the city changed its name to Springdale when applying for a post office in 1872. The four-county Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area is ranked 109th in terms of population in the United States with 463,204 in 2010 according to the United States Census Bureau. The city had a population of 69,797 at the 2010 Census.
Springdale has been experiencing a population boom in recent years, as indicated by a 133% growth in population between the 1990 and 2010 censuses. During this period of rapid growth, the city has seen a new Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, the establishment of a Springdale campus of Northwest Arkansas Community College and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals minor league baseball team move into Arvest Ballpark. Tyson remains the city's top employer, and is visible throughout the city. Many public features bear the Tyson name, including the Randal Tyson Recreational Complex, Don Tyson Parkway, Helen Tyson Middle School and Don Tyson Elementary. Governor Mike Beebe signed an act into law recognizing Springdale as the The Poultry Capital Of The World in 2013.

SUMMARY
=======
Arkansas ( AR-kən-saw) is a state in the southern region of the United States, home to over 3 million people as of 2017. Its name is of Siouan derivation from the language of the Osage denoting their related kin, the Quapaw Indians. The state's diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozark and the Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the densely forested land in the south known as the Arkansas Timberlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River and the Arkansas Delta.
Arkansas is the 29th largest by area and the 33rd most populous of the 50 United States. The capital and most populous city is Little Rock, located in the central portion of the state, a hub for transportation, business, culture, and government. The northwestern corner of the state, such as the Fayetteville–Springdale–Rogers Metropolitan Area and Fort Smith metropolitan area, is a population, education, and economic center. The largest city in the state's eastern part is Jonesboro. The largest city in the state's southeastern part is Pine Bluff.
The Territory of Arkansas was admitted to the Union as the 25th state on June 15, 1836. In 1861, Arkansas withdrew from the United States and joined the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. On returning to the Union in 1868, the state continued to suffer due to its earlier reliance on slavery and the plantation economy, causing the state to fall behind economically and socially. White rural interests continued to dominate the state's politics until the civil rights movement. Arkansas began to diversify its economy following World War II and relies on its service industry, aircraft, poultry, steel, tourism, cotton, and rice.
The culture of Arkansas is observable in museums, theaters, novels, television shows, restaurants, and athletic venues across the state. Arkansas's enduring image has earned the state a special place in the American consciousness. People such as politician and educational advocate William Fulbright; former President Bill Clinton who served as the 40th and 42nd Governor of Arkansas; his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; former NATO Supreme Allied Commander General Wesley Clark, Walmart magnate Sam Walton; singer-songwriters Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, and Glen Campbell; the poet C. D. Wright; and physicist William L. McMillan, who was a pioneer in superconductor research; have all lived in Arkansas.

First amendment audit This particular police station is private property Las Vegas Police
Las Vegas PD tried to tell me that the police station was private property and to move to the sidewalk. LIES. They act like foreign agents when they deal with civilian who exercise their rights. They operate outside of the confines of the USC and BILL OF RIGHTS.
They say it is “unusual” for someone to be at the police station at 4am. THIS IS LAS VEGAS, it’s 24/7 here. Hell there was a guy parked in the parking lot just sitting there! Lol it’s the CAMERA they fear!
I always try to educate officers not only about the 1st amendment, but other protected rights as well. Especially this assault on the 2nd amendment. I think it’s important we school them on every part of the USC.

This is my first ever 1st Amendment Audit. I will admit up front that I was a little worked up and I was talking way too much. First time jitters, for sure.
Location was Surprise, AZ Civic Center. This is a massive fail on the part of the Surprise PD. Not only did they ask for ID, but they also illegally detained me. I will probably go back later and file a complaint on the officer.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
