Stotfold is a small town and civil parish in Bedfordshire, England. Stotfold is thought to have gained its name from the northern drovers breaking their journey south at this point on the A1 Great North Road and penning their horses in enclosures before continuing their journeys southwards. The River Ivel runs through the town. Stotfold covers 2,207 acres and the population at the 2001 census was 6,190.

Nipped up to Stotfold Mill nature reserve again this morning and took a slow walk around, I got dive bombed by the House Martins and the Swallows but apart from trying to get some Reed Warblers and Chiffchaffs on film thought that was it for the day.

There was no sign of the swans who had gone off down the river and then as I was making my way back to the car, I see a bird settle on some reeds about 20 feet to my left, it's a warbler I thought... yes it is a warbler... it's a Whitethroat!

Excellent! I am really chuffed about that... Stotfold, brilliant place!
