SNOEMAN - CAPE FLATS - Cape Town South Africa
I have always been fascinated and inspired by the landscapes of what are called informal settlements - shanty towns - shacks - slums - squats - favelas ..etc. Although, there is nothing informal nor irregular about them, it is how a large portion of the earths human population lives. I captured this footage in Cape Town, South Africa in 2009. Thanks to my friend L, who was equally as passionate as myself about exploring areas that most people avoid, just to see the sights, meet the people, drink the beers, and look for surfaces to paint.
South Africa - Capetown Township Langa
Projects are in progress to improve the lives of inhabitants of South African townships, but many people are still living in very basic conditions and desperately wait for housing improvement.
We visited Langa, a township of Cape Town. We saw the houses that were built for harbor laborers where three families now live in one small room, sheds, a shabeen with self-brewed beer, but also a school, new built and refurbished housing, the small museum and the community center that runs projects to help young artisans to develop their skills.
Cape Town was visited at the end of our overland trip from the Netherlands to South Africa.

Episode 11 of my south African Adventure !! The bike is finally ready to go, and I'm packing it up for the first trial ride !
If you're wondering why I stopped being a vegan- Its because my health was rapidly declining. I was vegan for two years and during that two years, I happened to also experience the worse stress of my life. My body was unable to absorb the nutrients and I became very ill. I lost 80 % of my hair and became very anemic. I chose to start eating meat again because I thought that would help ( it didn't ) . It was a conscious decision to start eating it again and was difficult to change my mind set. When I went vegan- I changed cold turkey. And after I had such a mind shift towards meat. I even tried to test myself and eat it one day and was absolutely repulsed by the taste I once loved . I had watched a very impactful video on the mass meat industry that had changed my mind in an instant. Suddenly- I was no longer eating delicious meat- but I was eating a raw dead animal. So, the switch was easy.. What wasn't easy was starting to eat it again.. Yes, in this video I appear to like it quite a lot.. Once I forced the shift to make myself to eat meat again- the taste came back. Knowing the animals were also ethically killed ( not tortured) and free range, and also every part of the animal was used - this made it easier. I still did not eat mass produced meat as this industry makes me sick. All of this meat was hunted and caught locally. After my south Africa trip, I went back to being a vegan ( minus fish) And my taste buds have gone back to dis- liking meat again. My health never did improve- however my hair did grow back- But I might contribute that to the Camel Urine ;) When I travel now- If someone does offer me meat- I try not to refuse it- If I know it is home grown. If that;s all they have and they are willing to share it- I personally think it is rude to refuse, So I will eat a little.
I don't believe in torturing animals, or mass production meat/animal product factories. I do not support that in anyway. Especially all the crap they feed the animals and the antibiotics they use- that energy and chemicals is going into your BODY ! Not to mention the poor lives that are been tortured their entire lives and beaten in their last breaths. . But if people want to eat meat- that is their choice. Not anyones' to judge. If you can buy ethically sourced animal products, that is better for you and the environment/animals. Try to make a conscious decision when you purchase your animal products, and know where it comes from and what you'er putting in your bodies.

STELLENBOSCH TOWN TOUR | CAPE TOWN VLOG [2019]
Cape Town Vlogger: Join me as I do a tour on Stellenbsoch Town , known as the City of Oaks'. Stellenbosch is an awesome tourist destination, surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. Stroll down the town's oak-shaded streets (Church street) that are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Rich in Dutch colonial history, there are many Cape Dutch style architecture to enjoy, such as the Village Museum's period houses and gardens tour. Take a walk through the Stellenbosch University botanical gardens and try some delicious coffee from the many little coffee shops around. There is a town tour on foot as well as a friendly Madiba township tour. Spend an entire day exploring Stellenbosch town.

Let's HOP around CAPE TOWN South Africa ????????
Let's Hop around Cape Town South Africa ????????
Best way to explorer a city is definitely by the City Sightseeing Hop-On/Hop-Off Tour Bus.
Early at morning we went to the city centre (near the street market place) where you can buy tickets/ tours & where you can Hop into the Bus.
All Informations below the link:
(
There are 3 kinds of Lines (RED, YELLOW & BLUE). Each Line cost you around 10 EUR/ 12 USD. The ticket is valid for a full day and you can Hop around the city.
We choose the red Line. The bus bring us around the city of Cape Town (Long Street, St. Georges Cathedral, Lions Head View, Table mountain view....) where we can got our first impression about Cape Town.
The Bus Stops in many locations in the city Centre but also at the cable gondola near the Table Mountain, Camps Bay, Sea Point and V&A Waterfront.
We enjoy our time at Camps Bay, where we had an wonderful walk at the beach. The view to the Lions Head and the Table mountain is epic.
But the water temperature is freezing cold.
We would be very happy if you SUBSCRIBE our Channel.

Kitesurfing Cape Town, South Africa - Wind | Water | Wild - - Ep. 02: Hermanus
Wind Water Wild is a four part series highlighting kitesurfing in stunning South Africa. From the wild west coast to the southern tip of the continent, we dive into the remarkable yet formidable natural conditions in the Western Cape. Cape Town local Luke McGillewie takes you on an incredible journey in this video series produced by Madic Media. We're searching for the perfect wave where the Pacific and Atlantic ocean meet, experiencing close encounters with wildlife in the heathlands, sending insane airs at Kite Beach (home of the Red Bull King of the Air), and clinking glasses after a day well spent with the local kiteboarding community.
Hermanus is the spot to be for flatwater and freestyle... and when you've got an awesome crew of kiters, you know it's going to be a good time! In this episode of Wind Water Wild, Luke McGillewie takes us to Hermanus for a secret spot mission and a session in 'The Pond'.
Cape Town might be one of the most beautiful cities in the world... definitely one of the windiest. But this season has really been something else. To get a session in, you're going to have to go the distance!
When the wind's not blowing at Cape Town's Kite Beach in Blouberg, it's time to start checking the forecast to see where it's working. A flatwater session at 'The Pond' in Grotto Bay in Hermanus is always a treat, but when the wind is thumping? Everyone and their mom is on the water! We got a tip about a secret spot that was going to work, so it was time to get the local Liquid Force crew together...
After an epic flatwater session with friends and teammates at the secret spot, it was time to crack a couple beers, fire up the braai, and kick back at a holiday home in Hermanus. Nothing beats celebrating a great session with your friends... Except maybe a fun session at Grotto Bay!
With butter flat water in The Pond and waves just across the sand, there's more than a little bit of fun to be had. And with the right crew? It's always a laugh! The sessions with friends are the ones that really stick in the memory books.
After another epic Cape Town kite mission, we're already looking forward to the next adventure. On the next episode of Wind Water Wild, we're off to the West Coast National Park for sessions in the blue lagoon...
