Domino Printing and Sutter Home Pair Up for Innovative Success
Sutter Home Winery, Inc.—the second largest independent, family run winery in the United States—changed the way Americans enjoy wine. Headquartered in St. Helena, CA, Sutter Home produces high-quality varietals at an affordable price. They even created White Zinfandel, which went on to become one of the most popular wines in the U.S.
“We always make sure we over deliver on quality to our customers—to do that we use the best equipment available,” said Scott Childers, Production Manager at Sutter Home. “In order to stay in front of the customer, we’re always experimenting with new packaging. We were one of the first to put wine in PET bottles and now package with Tetra Paks, bag-in-boxes and cans. People love it!” he added.
Sutter Home looked far and wide to find solutions for their coding and printing needs—specifically for solutions that offered flexibility and ease of use. Because of their success, reliability and expertise with companies in the beverage industry, Domino was Sutter Home’s first choice as their coding and printing partner. And their choice has paid off.
Domino’s innovative outer carton printing solution has saved Sutter Home time and money. Domino’s case coding laser features larger character printing that differentiates it from the competition and is difficult to replicate. In addition, Domino developed a mobile laser system—unique to the market—specifically to accommodate the flexibility requirements of Sutter Home’s production site.
“Our other lines that primarily use ink jet applications are fixed coders so they don’t move. But the laser Domino created was specifically made to move from line to line and even facility to facility,” said Childers. “We have a lot of trust in Domino. It’s [performance is] repeatable, we have zero downtime and it’s essentially invisible in our operations, which is the best thing we could say about laser coding equipment,” he added.
Sutter Home has hosted other wineries at their facility to share information and observe their Domino equipment—and they have always left very impressed. “We’re lucky—we get to purchase equipment from the top manufacturers in the packaging industry. We also like to purchase equipment from people that we like doing business with, and Domino is a group we like doing business with,” said Childers. “Domino supports our operations—which at times is 24/7—and hasn’t failed us yet. If we had to do this all over again, I would have just done it sooner!” he adds.
Sutter Home Winery, Inc: When the Trinchero family bought the Sutter Home Winery in 1948, they had a vision, a passion, and an insight into consumer tastes. In the early 1970s, Sutter Home started a trend when the company created White Zinfandel, introducing a new, sweeter flavor profile that changed the way Americans enjoyed wine by offering high-quality varietals at an affordable price. By the 1980s and 1990s, Sutter Home became a household name and the second largest independent, family-run winery in the United States. In 2005, the winery was the first to produce the groundbreaking single-serve, 187ml in light-weight plastic bottles, and was one of the first wineries to produce Moscato over 60 years ago. With a fresh new label in 2013, Sutter Home continues to reflect the evolution of the brand and its consumers with 20 different varietals to choose from. For more information, visit SutterHome.com.

Sweepstakes Winner: Sutter Home Winery - Melissa Etheridge Day 2 / Live in the Vineyard 2015
I was the grand prize winner in the Sutter Home Live in the Vineyard Sweepstakes. I won a trip to Napa and experienced a private performance by Melissa Etheridge at the Sutter Home Winery. I also got a photo with her during the meet & greet. Thank you so much Sutter Home Winery for the awesome experience!
I enjoy being a sweepstakes winner and winning sweepstakes consistently. My sweepstakes wins of 8 major grand prize wins in 3 1/2 years is my luckiest win streak ever!
I started sweeping as a teenager in 1989 when I bought a subscription to Contest Newsletter from American Family Publishers. I fondly remember my boxes of 500 envelopes and all those 3x5 cards. The biggest prize I won was a mountain bike worth $500 which I still have today. For some reason, I stopped renewing my subscription and my hobby was put on hold. Fast forward 20 years later I found myself sweeping again on the internet. In 2010, I started using the site Sweeties Sweeps to enter sweepstakes:
It took me three years of winning smaller prizes before I won my first ever trip win which was to Las Vegas. I've been very lucky to win my fair share of grand prizes. Thank you so much Sweetie!
So how did I win 8 major grand prizes in 3 1/2 years? Two words: enter consistently. It's only a matter of time before you win too.
Hopefully, my videos will inspire and motivate you to keep on entering. So consider following me on my journey of winning by subscribing now and clicking that notification bell.
Keep on winning!
Glenn

California Vineyard For Sale - Zinfandel - Amador County, CA

Your vineyard is waiting ... in California's Shenandoah Valley!
The two properties listed on this site are planted in Zinfandel and are located in Amador County, home to some of the state's finest Zinfandel producing vineyards.
Amador County Wine is the land where Zinfandel reigns supreme and the vineyards are steeped in 150 years of winemaking tradition. It is here where European winemaking found a home in the late 19th century. Part of what has come to be known as the Mother Lode, Amador County was settled by immigrants, mostly of Mediterranean decent, who sought a golden future and brought their viticultural traditions to the iron rich soils of the area. After the prosperous wine industry was shut down by Prohibition early in the 20th century, the county remained dormant until the 60's when a young Sutter Home winemaker rediscovered the spicy, bold Zinfandel grape which was abundant in the area and returned the name Amador to a label again. The success of this wine, as well as the ripe Barbera & Sangiovese that would follow, has made the region nationally recognized. Today this county is divided into two appellations, Shenandoah Valley and Fiddletown, but Amador and Zinfandel remain synonymous in the hearts of California wine lovers.
