Nanaimo seawall bicycle ride (part 1) July 08, 2010
This ride starts at the Nanaimo yacht club, then south down the Nanaimo seawall, across the foot bridge over the Millstone River, through Maffeo Sutton Park, and around the Swy-a-lana Lagoon Park tidal pool ------ Sorry about the shaky video and the buzzing sound. The buzzing is coming from inside my camera. This is definitely not a high-tech set up! Seems my camera does not like being mounted to the handle bars of a bicycle. I used a Gorillapod to mount the camera on.

I appreciate my clients and enjoy my work. For 11 years, I’ve been recognized as a top producer – one of Nanaimo’s and British Columbia’s preminent closers who has fun fulfilling the property dreams of my clients. I earn this recognition every day by continually bringing my sales clients the best prices from the best buyers, and by nimbly guiding my buyers to their dream homes. I know how to effectively navigate markets, I love to market homes, I enjoy matching buyers to their new properties, I thrive on negotiation, and I have a great time exceeding the expectations of my clients.
Sales Award Winner 2006 - 2016 by The broker in which I reside, I frequently get my sellers extra press for their homes – I do this by regularly appearing as a real estate expert on youtube and many other social medias, home and land and in the local news papers . Frequently promoting my clients’ properties on social media and other avenues, I cite them as market anecdotes to get my sellers’ homes more notice.
I’ve sold condos, townhouses, and apartments all over Nanaimo: North Nanaimo, south Nanaimo, University district, downtown and Cedar. Parksville and Ladysmith, all over Vancouver island. Beyond my work in Nanaimo, I’ve built a global property network, and I employ it to link contacts all over the world to agents whom I deem effective for my clients. My real estate business is built upon a seasoned foundation of listening, on good communication, on anticipating and satisfying the needs of my clients, and on applying my proven, effective, unique sales strategy: Keen pricing, expert negotiation, and working in a stress-free, proven way that keeps my clients well served. Daily, I build my success upon the happiness of and referrals from my clients.
Born in Edmonton, AB, I successfully owned and operated a business with over 100 staff at it's peek for 7 years then sold in 2005. My next adventure was graduating from UBC, with a concentration in business. I fulfilled a lifelong dream when I moved to Vancouver island. My true joy and success, however, was discovered when I began selling homes. I enjoy my work because I enjoy pleasing my clients. Once my clients are perfectly happy, I like to run along westwood lake, wake surf, ski and travel. I’ve explored many exciting destinations around the USA, Europe and Canada, but my favorite place is still Nanaimo. I’ve lived in this incredible city since 2005 – I own on the North end on Longlake where I live with my family.
I appreciate my clients and customers, and I have a great time fulfilling their property dreams—here in Nanaimo, and around the world.

Pipers lagoon Nanaimo BC presented by Mike McKillican
Pipers Lagoon Park is the best, most exotic oceanside park in Nanaimo (aside from Newcastle Island, but that's not a fair contest).
The lagoon itself is the size of three football fields. You park at one end and walk along a narrow, straight dyke between the lagoon and the restless surf. The waves from the open water have created a marvellous pebbly beach with a great deal of mermaid's tears (a beautiful product of beach glass). Then it gets rocky; there is some non-technical rock-climbing for those who desire it, and one larger hill covered in arbutus and Garry Oak, eagles, driftwood and views of the Strait.
Shack Island
This island can be reached by pedestrians during lower tides.
Shack Island is a T-shaped, exotic slice of short bluffs and rocky beach amidst the shallow waters that separate Pipers Lagoon from Neck Point to the north.
There've been fishermen's cabins here since before the thirties – back when it was a long rowboat journey from downtown Nanaimo to these prime fishing grounds. The shacks were contructed as weekend shelters.
The shacks are rustic in appearance and are often thought to be abandoned, but really they are treasured and used as summer cabins by a lucky few descendants of the original owners. So, please be respectful of these properties if you venture there.
