JP Australia Surf 8'6'' 2019 Review / Advanced SUP surf
Check out full review with rating sliders and photos on SUPboarder :
In this weeks SUPboarder review we take a look at the new JP Australia Surf 8'6'' x 29''. A brand new size for 2019. We have tested this board over 6 different sessions in a variety of wave types. The JP Australia Surf is a great shaped, advanced surf SUP that's easy to use. This board is going to get intermediate SUP surfers moving into more aggressive turns and faster waves with its more performance outline shape.
JP Australia SUP Surf Paddle Board
JP Australia SUP Surf Paddle Board come in two constructions and four sizes. the JP Australia SUP Surf Paddle Board is a pro surf board shape designed for riding waves. This Surf range is based on radical surf board designs adapted and adjusted for the needs of SUP.
They are equipped with a narrower nose section, higher entry and extra rocker for real surf board feeling. Keeping them rather wide, in combination with a flat deck curve guarantees sufficient stability to cross the white water. Towards the back the boards have a pulled-in outline with increased V. Once on the wave face, you just shift your weight slightly back and you will experience fast rail to rail response and agility resulting in tighter turns while maintaining speed.
For the advanced SUP surfer they provide vertical turns and surfboard style ripping! The whole range comes with a FCS plug in the nose to attach your Go Pro camera. All four boards come with a Thruster setup. They also come with a mast foot insert to attach a windsurf rig and are great lightwind wave boards. You have to experience that strapless wave windsurf feeling.

Atlantis Halo - Allround Stand up Paddle Board SUP
The Atlantis Halo stand up paddleboard is Australia’s favourite all-round paddleboard. The Halo has been designed specifically as a flat-water board that also performs in small-to-medium sized waves – making it the perfect choice for entry-level paddlers and experienced stand-up paddle surfers. This is achieved by the ideal combination of length and width. The Halo is stable, but has a pulled-in tail that allows it to carve in the surf.
The Land Koori Cook Off
At Illawarra’s “The Land” 2014 NAIDOC Week celebrations on Friday the 11th of July, Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service, Illawarra Shoalhaven Medicare Local and the Heart Foundation teamed up to host the Koori Cook Off.

The first heat was for Aboriginal Organisations and Program staff: Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, , Illawarra Shoalhaven Medical Local Aboriginal Chronic Care program, Warrigal Employment and Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service Staff vying for the Inaugural Inter-organisational Shield with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District team taking out the honours. Heat 2 was for community members and saw the Koori Men’s Support Group, SACCYA, Quit for New Life- The Cool Koori Cats and the Trusty Cookers cooking up a storm with SACYA voted the winners.
Planning is underway for the 2015 Koori Cook Off at The Land NAIDOC Day celebrations on Friday the 10th of July, time to get your team together and start cooking some great tucker.

Ruby's Very Big Year - 1000km paddling challenge
I enthusiastically recommend doing the Very Big Year. It's a big commitment but very much worth it!
The Very Big Year is a 1000km paddling challenge started by Sydney Harbour Kayaks in an effort to increase participation in the many ultra-marathon paddling events in Australia. The 1000km of events must be completed in one year, must include at least one race in another state, and must include one of the big flagship events, like the Massive Murray Paddle. As an extra bonus, you must complete at least one race with a single blade (canoe, SUP or outrigger) and one with a double blade (kayak).
I completed 16 races: PaddleNSW Marathon Series (including State Champs), Burley Griffin Dash, Riverland Paddling Marathon, Myall Classic, Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, Massive Murray Paddle and the Burley Griffin 24 Hour Challenge (double entry K1 relay and Canoe).
I made so many new friends, spent a lot of time with old friends, especially enjoyed the multi-day ultra-marathons, benefited from seeing some beautiful scenery, got very fit, developed some very effective callouses and surprised myself by enjoying the canoeing (will try more later). I became closer to my husband, especially when we paddled the Murray together, but also ferrying to and from major races.
I have so many people to thank for boat loans, photography (Ian Wrenford LCRK that's you!) and just mental support. I borrowed boats from my clubs, from Brett Greenwood (+ Marilyn Golden), Sue Mueller, Scott Harris, Terry Reilly and Rob Hardy. The race organisers are so dedicated and put so many hours into setting up the events and running them. And a big thanks to both my clubs - Manly Warringah Kayak Club and Lane Cove River Kayakers for their support, training and companionship throughout the year!
Along the way I raised a bit of money for charity: $1253.12 for Orange Sky Laundry (Massive Murray) and $285 for the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation (Hawkesbury).

好天气在悉尼邦代海灘 Bondi beach with sunny day
The sweeping white-sand crescent of Bondi is one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. Reliable waves draw surfers while, nearby, hardy locals swim in the Icebergs ocean pool year-round. Trendy, health-conscious Sydneysiders head to laid-back cafes around Hall Street, while hip backpackers frequent the area's casual pubs. Walkers and joggers use the clifftop Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, with its dramatic scenery.
Location: 7 km (4 mi) E of Sydney CBD

a lot of this trip is missing considering i couldn't take my phone in the water, but we had fun exploring the rain forest, sliding down the rock waterfall, meeting our british roommates, and of course, seeing all the fish swimming around the reef :)
