So back in October 2017 we took a trip Syon House in the United Kingdom. There is so much history here and Katherine Howard spend her last few days here before she was sent to the tower. Hope you enjoy exploring the house and grounds with us.

Syon Park - West London
A beautiful house and landscaped 200 acres park [formerly Syon Abbey] a few miles west of central London and still the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland. Grounds contain a Wyevale garden centre and retile house [formerly the butterfly house] - all well worth a visit across Thames from Kew Gardens. You can hear the famous north Surrey parakeets whose ancestors escaped from [Shepperton Studios?] film set a few decades ago. The park under the flight path to London Heathrow Airport and noise suppressed in some scenes!
The expression a dog's breakfast may have originated here - the bloated corpse of Henry VIII was brought here on his death in1547 enroute for burial at Windsor Castle and blood seeping from his coffin was reputedly licked by dogs the following morning - ugh!

Basic Brentford Tour - July 2019
Whilst in London we visited my old hometown of Brentford. We done a basic tour of some areas as there is a lot of redevelopment work going on.

Robert Adam proposed to fill the space in the centre of Syon House with a large rotunda, but this was never built. Historic plans show this area as an empty space, although it was also used for entertainments, such as when the 9th Earl entertained James I. In 1999 Lady Salisbury was commissioned to design a Courtyard Garden, and the present geometrical design, with gravel paths and parterre beds edged with box hedges, was laid out.
Snakes and Ladders Brentford (Syon Park) Family Fun Reviews
Snakes and ladders has free.parking available in the Syon Park Garden centre and an approximate 5minute walk from the car park to the softplay which is relatively easy to find and is signposted well.
This soft play centre has a small miniature softplay for the younger ones babies / toddlers which is gated off in their own section with a selection of soft toys.
The larger softplay area consists of approximately 3/ 4 floors and has a large football court area, a dark secret area, a few windy slides, a large slide which was manned by staff, plenty of climbing, swinging, jumping areas and a ball out which has a air tube to shoot balls out of.
An area for children to role play in a host of shops as in supermarket, post office, a kitchen house.
Plenty of seating around for adults which was good as many other softplay do lack in seating. Cafe had a good selection of items however I didn't try any hot food so cannot comment on that side of things.
Wifi connection was good which I can see this being a good thing for the parents when sitting down.
Overall for 2 adults and 3 children costed just under £40 a selection of drinks for us all cost just a little under £10
My rating for this is 3 stars out of a possible 5.

La Foresta Incantata ????♀️ al Syon Park - Enchanted Woodland ????♀️ at Syon Park
Ogni anno, a Novembre, il Syon Park diventa una foresta incantata, con spettacolari giochi di luce e atmosfere da fiaba.
Non perdete per nulla al mondo l'occasione di visitare il parco in questo periodo.
Syon Park sorge sulle sponde del Tamigi, molto vicino a Kew Gardens, contiene più di 200 specie di alberi rari.
Anche se il parco e il lago sono stati progettati da Capability Brown nel 1760, l'aspetto attuale è quello del XIX secolo.
La piscina circolare ha al centro una copia della statua di Mercurio del Giambologna.
Di particolare interesse è il Great Conservatory ovvero la grande serra del giardino, disegnata da Cherles Fowler tra il 1820 ed il 1827: è stata la prima serra di così grandi dimensioni ad essere costruita in ferro e vetro.
Si tratta di un edificio la cui raffinata e delicata struttura è stata progettata secondo schemi neoclassici basati su modelli palladiani.
