Takapuna is a relaxing and upmarket coastal suburb of the premium North Shore region of Auckland and boasts a stunning beach - ideal for swimming and sunbathing as well as the beautiful Lake Pupuke. Takapuna is one of Auckland's most ideal suburbs to relax by the beach while being an easy distance from the city centre. Takapuna also offers breathtaking and sweeping views of the Harauki Gulf and the beautiful young volcanic Rangitoto Island.

A visit to the Takapuna beach in Auckland, New Zealand. Takapuna is located on the isthmus of a peninsula which extends south into the northern waters of the Waitemata at the harbour's eastern end. Takapuna Beach is a popular beach where locals and visitors a like flock to picnic and play. On a clear day beach-goers enjoy great views of the volcanic island of Rangitoto and other Hauraki Gulf islands.
Takapuna Beach has good parking, a large boat ramp, toilets and a changing block. From the attractive reserve and picnic area alongside the beach, it is only a short stroll to cafes, boutique shops and a modern shopping centre. There is also a scenic coastal walkway that runs from Takapuna Beach to Milford Beach.
Car parking is not a problem in Takapuna Beach, with many free and low cost options. Anzac Street and Killarney Street car parks offer two hours FREE parking, with unlimited free parking after 8pm and all day on weekends. Westfield Shore City offers three hours FREE parking during the week with free parking on the weekend. All pay and display parking in Takapuna is FREE after 6pm.
